This 2018 Caterham Seven 420R SV is a option loaded left-hand-drive model that was built by the current owner. Power comes from a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec inline-four linked to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and the car rides on 13” alloy wheels with Eibach adjustable coilover race dampers, aero wishbones and four-wheel disc brakes including uprated front ventilated discs. The interior offers a quick release MOMO steering wheel, and carbon-fiber elements include the dashboard fascia, sill covers, and rear stone guards. Seats are equipped with Schroth 5-point harnesses.

The wide body SV version car with lowered floors is finished in black with white and red stripes. A red “7” accents the grille, and additional details include a red certified race roll cage and black boot cover. The car is equipped with an independent front suspension and a De Dion rear axle with Eibach racing adjustable coilovers on front and rear. The 13” alloy wheels have silver centers and are wrapped in new Toyo R888 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with four-piston front calipers and ventilated front rotors. The GRP racing seats have black padding and Schroth branded 5 point harnesses. The MOMO steering wheel is mounted on a quick-release hub and fronts a carbon-fiber dashboard that houses a 160-mph speedometer, a clocked 9k-rpm tachometer, a shift light, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 3,000 miles. The Carfax report lists an issuance of an Alabama title in August 2019. The 2.0-liter Ford Duratec inline-four was factory rated at 210 horsepower and features a Caterham-branded valve cover and intake plenum as well as a stainless-steel long-tube header and a polished right-side muffler to black track day rear exhaust. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Sequential shift lights provide indication for ideal shift timing.

Additional track related safety equipment include the plumbed in fire extinguisher and 55 liter fuel cell. The standard locked ECU has been replaced with an unlocked SBD Motorsports MBE9A4 ECU. The car is titled as a 2018 CATERHAM CARS SEVEN using the VIN AL19AN00X00072922. The title carries a 3500 miles actual notation. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage. The car also is convertible for racing purposes and has a decorated racing history with wins in HSR (Group 3), SVRA (Group 12) and NASA (SU) series events. Log books for all series will be part of the provided documentation. A 2^nd set of Caterham wheels wrapped with used Hoosier F2000 slicks are included.

Due to an upcoming family move to Europe, I am putting my Caterham up for sale.  As far as I know this is the only S3 chassis with the 260hp Cosworth engine from the CSR260 cars.  Whenever possible, I maintained the car with Caterham parts and bought extra parts to make ongoing maintenance easy. The Cosworth CSR260 engine is a great engine with good documentation from Cosworth and Caterham. California clean title in hand, SB100 smog exempt.  Asking price $48,000.

Since purchasing this car, I have made no significant changes, only worked to continue to set this car up to be a reliable backroad car.  The torque from the 2.3L Duratec engine makes it easy to drive slow, and the 7700 RPM redline, rated 260 HP, and roller barrel throttle bodies makes it fun to drive fast.  I took it to Laguna Seca once and Sonoma Raceway twice.  I've owned the car since 2021, driving the car approximately 10,000 miles, for a total of 26,500 miles on the chassis.

Reliability Improvements:

• Installed differential struts to help reduce torque steer
• Replaced a failed driveshaft universal joint. 
• Switched to using a large Raceco muffler which required a small amount of fabrication as the Zetec - to - Duratec engine swap meant the exhaust system switched from the driver's to passenger's side. 
• Fixed a few minor electrical issues from 20 years of exposure to the elements
  • A bit of headlight wiring
  • The fuel pump failed due to corrosion on one connector
  • The O2 sensor was incorrectly wired
• I have done Blackstone Labs tests on the engine oil and differential oil and they passed with flying colors.

With real reluctance, I’m putting my Caterham CSR up for sale. I’m relocating to Europe shortly, and importing/registering a US Seven there would be a long, expensive, and bureaucratic adventure I’d rather avoid. 

I am the original owner. The car was built for me, and very solidly built, by Rocky Mountain Caterham from a brand‑new CSR chassis in 2020. The engine and gearbox were sourced separately, per US EPA Kit Car Policy. The goal was simple: create the most agile, communicative and confidence‑inspiring road car possible. What This Car Delivers

You end up with a 1290‑lb, ~200‑bhp Caterham built on a Multimatic‑engineered platform — inboard front suspension, the only IRS in Caterham history, and a level of composure that, in my opinion, sets it apart from other Seven expressions.

The handling is the CSR’s party trick: poised, unflappable, and absurdly fast across real roads. It shrugs off mid‑corner bumps, stays balanced no matter what you throw at it, and covers challenging terrain at WRC-like pace with unerring ease.

Steering is razor‑sharp, richly detailed, and free of slop. The Duratec pulls from 2500 rpm and then charges hard to a 7800 rpm redline with a hint of BDA‑like sonority up top. The upgraded brakes match the chassis: powerful, progressive, confidence‑building.

It is, without question, the most nimble, responsive, and sure‑footed road car I’ve owned. And everyone loves it, from 5-year olds to Porsche drivers, even Harley riders give it a thumbs up.

The Imperfections (in the spirit of full transparency)

• Slow oil seep at the main seal — improved but never fully eliminated. “They all do that, Sir.”

• Slight kangarooing at steady-state light throttle around town; disappears above ~30 mph

• A few small paint chips; it’s a driven car, not a museum piece

After driving for a while, I undertook an 18-month complete strip and rebuild. My idea was a “GT” build balancing power for the track with durability for long road trips. Many, many upgrades were added and the current configuration is as follows:

Paint/Trim/Finish 

- Custom multi-coat dark gray paint with 2-color painted strip. Xpel paint protective film front to tail in including fenders and wings (painted ones)

This car is a no expense spared build beyond standard Caterham 420r power level. 2.5L dry sumped Ford Duratec motor. 1993 Birkin S3 chassis imported from Japan with Caterham Front Uprights, brakes, nosecone, carbon aero screen, and more. I own a brand new 2022 Seven 360 R SV, which is undriven, unused, titled (in NYS), and I’m selling it!

Reasons:

1. Lifestyle changes — I travel a lot, and between my day job and travel, I’m very exhausted, so it is very hard to leisure drive on weekends
2. Even if I did make time, getting an insurance has been a hassle, to say the least.

Since I can’t seem to enjoy it as I’d hoped, I’ve decided to just sell it. I hope and wish someone else can enjoy it.

The cool thing is you’ll be getting this brand new car, WITHOUT any wait time! If you place an order for a new one, it takes several months, if not a few years. I had to wait 2.5 years, but for you, it’s 0!

I've got a Brunton Stalker Classic R for sale. I wanted to share it on here for all you fiends!

I only have a few photos at the moment but am in the process of getting it spit-shined for a photo shoot, so please bear with me!

Titled as a 1962 Lotus Seven. 4,500 miles. Tremec 6-speed. Cammed LS3. Custom billet spindles. 255-40-17 all around. 4-piston Wilwood front and rear. Double wishbone front and rear with inboard shocks via push rods and rockers. Coleman rack. Was told it weighs 1,600 lbs. I have not verified this - my lifting days are behind me. Never tracked. No issues. My son is getting older and I want to build an off-roader we both can enjoy. You just wouldn't imagine the looks you get with a toddler in the passenger seat of this thing.  

You may recognize this from Anaximander's collection - I purchased this from him about 3 years ago now. Spirited little lady, she is.  The car, I mean 😉

We imported this Caterham from the United Kingdom. We bought this off of a Caterham enthusiast in Leeds, UK.

$86,000. Car can be sold without trailer. 

My wife can't ride in it with me because the passenger seat is only 16" wide and she is wider than that..... The ride is race track inspired and it handles like a roller skate, but she hates that and the car has turned out to not be legal anymore to run SCCA hillclimbs without me adding a full rollcage, and I cannot bring myself to chop on a low mileage car just to run a couple of races. I added a few touches of my own and repaired some small items that did not work properly, the turn signals are correctly working, the horn button was removed from the steering wheel and located under the dash, the round steering wheel has been replaced with a "D" shaped race wheel, the headlights are now HI intensity LEDs with. Properly functioning hi/ lo beam setup. The corro-plastic "mats" have been replaced with seadeck rubber sound deading and heat insulating materials that look like wood. I tidied up under the hood and re designed the vinyl coverings over the drivers footwell and the electronics, I'll add a video with all of this additions later on today.

I purchased a Goblin to race with, it's a cheaper car but it meets the requirements for the type of racing I want to do, and I still have my mini cooper for driving on short road trips, so I think selling the WCM is best.

It’s been a ton of fun to own and drive and about as close as you can get to a street legal go-kart.  Only changes I’ve made during my ownership are black front fenders with stainless hardware and had rear panel repainted after someone bumped into me in a parking lot, which caused a small dent.  Previously the rear fenders were a bit peppered with rock chips, so had fenders repainted and PPF’d as well as new carbon fender guards. Also, since after this photoshoot I adjusted the rear muffler bracket, the L-bracket swung around due to a loose nut and reset and tightened it up, exhaust sits normally now.  Happy to answer questions for serious buyers.

The car has undergone a thorough refresh with new fluids (engine/transmission/rear diff/brakes/clutch) and the coolant was just tested and in excellent condition. The tires only have about 350 miles after having been installed and balanced last month. I am pleased to report that there is not one leak or drip from any of the car's components (the rug in the picture is there to lift the hood and keep the paint protected.

The car will be sold with a Brunton Auto custom open tilt trailer that was refurbished a month ago with new wheels/tires including a matching spare wheel/tire, new electric brakes with new bearings and the trailer wiring is completely new with a 3500 pound Torflex Axle for a smooth ride.

Replacement cost for this entire ensemble would be in the $90-100k range and the car is running like new. I took my neighbor for a ride who is used to high-performance motorcycles and he was blown away by the power to weight ratio and the cars acceleration/deceleration (Weight without passengers is approximately 1800 pounds with 15 gallons of fuel). I am pretty sure that I could get more money on BAT but I hate that they charge 5% and I would rather have a Stalker/Se7enesque lover get it at a more reasonable price. If you ask any of my former Stalker buyers, they will tell you that the cars they bought from me were in superb condition and very well sorted. The engineering and components (i.e. Grade 8 bolts and built from all new parts) that went into the chassis/suspension and drive train make for a car that is extremely quick and very intuitive to drive. Just the parts/components alone to build the car currently exceed a price somewhere North of $70k according to Scott Minehart who is the designer/builder. Scott opined that the XL would be his model of choice for street use and they are extremely successful in full-on track events with the very predictable handling characteristics. One of the truly amazing things about these M-Spec designs is that without all of the "nannies", if you find yourself starting to get loose by over-accelerating, all you have to due is lift off the throttle and the car immediately straightens out. This feature was designed into the car by Scott Minehart and his whole racing family where his brother is the second fastest in the country in SCCA autocross with his 2015 Stalker AXR.

The car and trailer are available for pickup in North Florida just South of the Georgia line in Tallahassee. This is my 7th and final Stalker. I have owned 5 M-Spec Stalkers (M-Spec 000, 3 XL's Classic R's, and a (M-Spec AXR that I helped build during the Covid pandemic). Its kind of ironic that if you go to Stalkercars.com, the blue M-Spec and this car are featured on the opening page. Minehart advised last week that he is supplying fiberglass parts for all of his M-Spec cars and has the molds for his 4 different models of Stalkers. The XL's were designed for a smoother ride with a longer/wider wheelbase. The car is titled as a 1962 Lotus 7 Replica. With the adjustable seat and wider dimensions, larger and taller folks with larger feet do not have to squeeze into this car. If you are looking for a custom, hand-built car sourced with all easily obtainable American made parts in the USA in the future, then this is an ideal car for a Seven lover that is a show stopper on the road and at every fuel stop Be prepared to have people giving you a tremendous amount of thumbs up and even folks wanting to video your car because of how unique it looks and how well it performs.

Below is a gentle third gear pull to 4800 rpm to show how peppy the car is with a peak HP at 6200 rpm and factory rev limiter at 6600 rpm.

Should be very easy to register in most states. 

Based on the NB Miata drivetrain, she’s been pepped up with a small turbo, that makes her a blast to drive.  Very quiet, very torquey, but sneakily fast.  Boost is incredibly smooth, starts to build at about 2200 RPM.  No sudden surge to upset the car, almost no turbo lag. 

ECU is managed by a Motorsports electronics ECU.  The car was tuned by Alex at Digitune – very, very reputable tuner for the ME ECUs, and a miata specialist.  (Great guy to work with by the way)

I’d estimate 210  wheel HP.  Turbo is limited to 11PSI, could be increased, as there is electronic boost controller installed.  She’s quite quick already.  11 PSI is a good safe limit for reliability IMO.

The Innovate PSB-1 gauge above the wheel displays both intake pressure and air fuel ratio via a Bosch wideband O2 sensor.   

Roll hoop can be removed and upgraded to an FIA cage should it be desired in the future, chassis is provisioned for the cage already – ie – they are swappable. 

Today’s cost is $29,800 for this kit imported to the US. 

Plus you’d still need a low mileage donor miata, as well as adding the costs and time to refurbish the parts.  

And then build it….

Car has about 150 miles on her since she was finished.

She’s been shaken down thoroughly, and is ready for pickup today.

If the buyer wants to add weather gear, wind deflectors, fender guards, or any accessories, I’d can supply and install if desired. 

Parts were sourced from an NB Miata, 80K on the odometer.  Unmodified donor vehicle, was in great shape and drove perfectly.
