  1. Hope this helps.

Then clean up the circumference of the hole.

I used a Dremel with flexible adapter and cutting wheels for the initial cutting then used an angle grinder with a cutting wheel to completely cut through the aluminum.

  2. At an auto-X the guy on the start line in front of me had forgotten to tighten the bolts on one of his wheels. So when he dropped the clutch, his V8 spun the wheel right off and up into the air, (how high will it go?). I watched it in wonder from the strapped in confines of my Miata, trapped from getting out or moving my vehicle.

Fortunately it missed me and everyone else when it finally came down. Not remotely as exciting as MoPho's brush with an inglorious end, but I can still see that spining wheel floating high above me, tho it was 15+ years ago.

...And yet the Bright Sparks of F1 want to lower the pit lane speed to minimize/prevent loose wheels from flying loose.

  3. I read that:

    They want to follow Porsche.

    Deja Vu, Dany Bahar :svengo:

    Edit:

    Ahem!

  4. Oh well another use of my 7 clone besides a car.

We have had an issue with moles and gophers this year and they just seem to be immune to the pellets one can purchase from the garden store :banghead: so I figured I would just make them go to sleep and never wake up again.

Parked my 7 in the yard next to a fresh hole and put a soda can that I cut the top and bottom out of into the hole and onto the end of the exhaust then started the car and let it idle.

Just amazing how quiet my 7 is with this setup....:smilielol5:....

Found where a lot of other vent holes where and covered them or plug them with top soil as can be seen in the top left corner of this photo.

Hope full that the moles and gophers are now resting in peace and not making more holes in my yard.

    :driving:

Lean the mixture down at idle until it backfires enthusiastically. :cooldude:

  5. I would recommend that you pull the plugs and look for a plug and corresponding combustion chamber that has had the carbon stripped out by the burning coolant/water.

It is still early days, so the plug won't yet have gunk on the threads, they'll be washed clean at this point.

  6. I would take this problem as an opportunity to replace the fragile little Fiat items with a much safer combination of spherical/rose joints and what AFCO calls "Adapter bolt tie rod ends" part#10240.

I had one of the Fiat joints break on a test run, the day before a track day 250 miles away.

The Yahoo Birkin owners site has info on this front control arm ball joint issue.

It's another delay for you but worth it .

  7. Your description of the decibel increase points to a glass pack.

Your options are to source a rebuildable unit from the UK.

I went cheap(er) with a Magnaflow and it does not get any louder with use, but was too loud to start with.

I'd recommend a repackable replacement that uses stainless steel wool.

There are some discussions on silencers elsewhere in this forum.

  8. Clearance will be adequate, until it is not. :hat:

I'm on borrowed time as I have not installed a sump guard.

    I run 16-18 psi on 205 50 15 Kumho Victoracers. I run 20psi on soft sidewall 195 50 15 street rubber.

In my experience the R comps will pick up and toss more stones due to the wider tread, the stickier compound.

I added "mud flaps" to the front fenders but still get stones thrown up into the cockpit.

I also have to clean out the lower frame rail/body joins of stones.
