I recently heard that a General SS565 is available in 185/60/13.
Reviews are all over the map.

Hey Ron,
Congrats. When you have her, drop me a PM and I will come over in my Caterham and we can compare rides.

Its too damn hot to drive the seven here in Ontario. How are you guys in the west?

I'm thinking of driving the seven down to Watkins Glen for the massive vintage festival on the Friday/Saturday Sept 9/10 from Mississauga, Ontario
Anyone else thinking of going?

I agree his answer sounds very strange.
I know its not answering your question, my distributor is stamped with a spec of an advance of 25 at 4,000 RPM.
I had 12+ degrees of advance at idle which led to a very high advance at high revs. I recently dialed it back to about 8 at idle. The car now runs more smoothly, although with less mid range.
I think there is a big difference in settings depending on what type of head you have (unleaded vs. leaded)

Do a search on the for sale section using "brooklands" as the key word
I think there is a pretty healthy demand in the UK where they actually allow them.
I suspect if you post them there or on ebay uk, you would get a good price

I don't have anything against ordering direct from Caterham UK, but I find these guys nice to deal with. They never seem to have the out of stock issues that Caterham UK do and with the weak Pound the prices don't seem to bad. Its rather old school in that you have to call them on the phone versus ordering on-line.
I just ordered a heater valve ($42) and some wind deflectors ($105)

1990...sadly a no go

Wow,
If you love Porsche or track videos this one is for you. I love wide-bodies (cars not women)

I guess its a function of the Canadian approach to legislating public safety.
I've done a bit of research and I'm putting myself at risk of a steep ticket for driving an unsafe vehicle if I remove my windshield and put on a set of brooklands.
Vehicle safety laws says I need a safety glass windshield with working wipers.
Its the same law that governs other vehicle safety items so it carries a $200 fine or even vehicle impound.
I live in a busy urban location with lots of local and highway police around so I'm pretty sure I'd get stopped by an officer with a ticket quota.
Just venting my frustration.
Makes me wish I lived out of town.
All in all Canada is a wonderful country....just a bit tight on motoring freedom

Just curious....what are the best years for the Miata?
Should I look at an early year low mileage or a later year high mileage?
I'm thinking of a fun run about for myself and my wife

I'm thinking of getting the Caterham part that has the fixed stanchion holding nuts and is installed in the scuttle channel to stiffen up the windshield mounting.
Quick question....The bolts that come up from the body to mount the scuttle and hold this new part...will those nuts fall out in behind my interior panel if I remove the existing body to scuttle nuts?
My interior panel is covered and I'd rather not drill out the rivets if I don't have to.
Hope this is not too confusing

Took a long time to find Nigel Tufnel from Spinal Tap.

Well whatever I did, its working. No more gas leaking on my battery and a nice progression between idle and main jet

That's what I thought....just touching at 12mm

Just to be sure as I have the later 151 type carbs with the plastic float and a 1.75 needle valve. Its 12.5 with the float compressed fully against the needle valve? I just set it at 8.5. Oops

I think the spitfire PCD is the same as the ital live axle:
does anyone have experience with ontario drive clean on a carb'd car?
in Canada

When I bought my 90' caterham, it squeezed thru drive clean when the dealer tuned the weber crossflow to barely running (super lean and massive advance).
I will try to replicate...but if I can't, what is the reality of the multiple fail scenario? Do I really have to rack up $450 in useless repairs?
