  1. Yes that is your usual exciting driving style! :jester: My two main concerns with BAT are: 1) There is a peanut gallery of uninformed commenters who actively mislead with their own misconceptions. That whole long cockpit discussion was ridiculous until (I think it was) one ex-Caterham dealer from MA stepping in and laying out the timeline in a credible informative way. In this case the misconceptions were corrected by a knowledgeable intervention. However, that may not always be the case and misconceptions can tank an auction with uninformed facts. This is more frequent than people realize. I have even seen flash mobs actively criticize and disparage cars for sale (e.g. NZ Ford Escort, one M3 from a PNW dealer, one 80s Porsche 930) - cars then failed to sell. Hitting the unconstructive post button often is too late to propagate the wrong facts and false assertions. I tend to ignore the comments and ask the seller directly offline when I am purchasing a car there. Its generally worked to my advantage. 2) The market for specialist cars is thin. If you are selling a Porsche VW 911 Beetle or other more mass market classics then the BAT auction process is brilliant. If you are selling a Caterham or a Stalker then the auction is going to have uncertainty. It depends on who is bidding on the day. Search Caterham auction results on BAT. The results are unbelievably choppy in values compared with sale prices via ads on this forum. This demonstrates that success for the seller requires 2 bidders actively wanting the car and prepared to go head to head on the final day. Its not always a simple matter of setting your own reserve - BAT negotiates that with you as I discovered when I explored selling one car out of curiousity. BAT want a realistic reserve as they need a flow of actual sales. I would only use the BAT if the reserve is right for me and if it does not sell then you view it as a pretty cheap price for excellent national advertising exposure that transitions into a longer term sale process via USA7s or EBay/Hemmings classifieds. I still think, on average, a classified ad on this forum for a seven will achieve a better win-win result for the buyer and seller than BAT if the seller has the patience.
  2. This forum probably needs the 55 gallon drum given all the sexy spam being flooded onto this forum in the last 24 hours.
  3. Given the pic and video links, I don't think the admins are having any problems whatsoever!
  4. Kitcat - since you are so focused on lubricants right now, have you ever tried the 'Passion' brand? http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=15685&stc=1 Amazon has a 55 gallon drum on sale at $2170. Gets great reviews (I just finished crying with laughter). https://www.amazon.com/Passion-Lubes-Natural-Water-Based-Lubricant/dp/B005MR3IVO?th=1 Probably useless in a Zetec but certainly would improve the speed of the driver.
  5. Hmmmm....everyone I have ever met on this forum has a big head. May take a while to sell a small helmet.
  6. Outside chance of Sunday. Depends on when I get back from Rome. Should be Saturday.
  7. Good to hear that you are back together and running again. I assume the engine was run in on the dyno (best option) or will be run in before you get to the track day?
  8. You are in good hands with Simon - he knows his stuff. Helped me dial in my ex-maroon SV and is helping me on a small upgrade project currently.
  9. 350lbs on the front? OMG! You use that in a car 3 times plus the weight...
  10. Oh stop it John! Everyone knows Connor was also faster than Seb and Simon. :-D
  11. I can arrange for a set of fluffy warmers in blue. Not a problem at all. You just have to participate in the event.
  12. Look up Boss Caterham rentals. They go to Brands, Silverstone and Donington. http://www.boss-racing.co.uk Bookatrack still has 2-3 Caterhams for rent as well. I was participating in a Bookatrack track day.
  13. To access the full library of photos, please use my Amazon hosting site link https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/8NC6LA9ISSmpof9eVkRPdw.TLfca939TsFpUcwu3nGpYn You can view, download or even send/purchase photos to print. Please do not delete the photos. Download is good. All credit on the photos to Mike Woeller. A top guy who loves cars and photography. He really enjoys participating in our event. Those that participated also receive an email with this information except for Jeff (BlueBDA) as I don't have Jeff's email. Can you please PM it to me and I can forward the email.
  14. Here are some of the group photos that we got during lunch Left to right Front row: Me, Scott, Paul, Tom G, Steve M, Tom C Middle row: Graham, Vlad, Dan, Norm, Blake, Kitcat (Mike M) Back row: Simon, Seb (slow again?), Jeff, John B, and ring in, Dom driving Tom G's yellow Caterham The one photo I want to see but have not yet, is Seb's Caterham fully adorned with its fluffy red steering wheel cover, gear knob warmer, and handbrake cover. One photo and I will admit you are the fastest...but until then you are the slowest.
  15. Graham For the record, I crossed the finish line first! Then we had the debrief. Kitcat having his regular counseling session with a pit official after wreaking havoc on track. Simon and John. John: "Lets face it, I am 5 seconds a lap faster than you" Simon's trying not to laugh I think?
  16. Left to right: Simon, John B, Tom and Seb. John is overtaking Seb (again) Oooh...look at Seb giving the evil eye on being passed Jeff Dan
  17. Tom Kitcat blowing smoke at us Graham passing me - my arm movement is not a wave but is signalling for the seven behind Graham to pass as I was waiting for Scott to catch up.
  18. Vlad overtaking Paul...notice someone has already lost a front wing.... Simon and Carrie A familiar car for some - Stewart's very pretty ex-7 now owned by Jeff. Jeff is demonstrating the Caterham feature of non-cancelling indicators. Its Norm in his highly modified car - lots of trick bits on this
  19. Paige was my navigator in case I got lost And here we are...predictably...John followed by Seb followed by Simon... Steve messing up his mirror finish Left to Right - Vlad, Norm and Paul
  20. Its the club hot shot Seb, checking out his competition that he can blitz on the way out of the pits. He lost this year - slower than John, John's son (name escaped me sorry), and Simon plus Carrie. So we come out on to pit lane John B followed by Seb - and thats the way that session stayed... Blake with Steve M in the distance behind him Scott L
  21. Then we line up ready to go out on the circuit...neatly in line....not Simon about to terrorize his lovely wife, Carrie
  22. The pits engine remapping session is not going well... Ooooh its shiny! And then we are belted in ready to do battle Fortunately only Mike was...I was more relaxed
