Like many of you on this site and other forums, I used Photobucket to host my photos and then link the image across here for display purposes - my CSR build thread, NJMP Sevens event, etc. However, starting this week, Photobucket modified its terms of service such that 3rd party linking of photos is not permitted under the first three tiers of membership/plans. Only the Plus Plan 500 $400 per year subscription gets that feature. The forums have come alive with the realization that build threads, blogs and many other DIY guides on forums like ours and others will or have been broken. Some of my threads on this forum have already broken. Given I seem to post more photos than most on here, I came across it earlier this week and have been trying to work out a solution. However, short of moving to another service the answer is I don't have an answer. Right now I am leaning towards deleting all of my photo bucket photos and starting afresh. This destructive solution is because Photobucket monetizes your photos (i.e. sells them). I don't see why I should have them host something that I cannot use. In the past they got monetization rights from me and I got a free storage/hosting solution - thats a fair trade concept. And at $400 per year for something I do not make any money off just does not make sense - I could spend that on more important things. There are other free services - Imgur and Flickr - which are available. Even Drop Box with its 2gb free is an option. Google Photos is not since they change their mind every few years and reinvent the service which means you have to reinvent your usage at the same time. While memory is cheap I guess there are lots of crappy selfie cell phone photos being upload which they cannot make money off? Any thoughts from others out there?

Skip - can't you dive deep into the menu options to turn it off? On my X5 (yes throttle blip on an automatic - hysterical!) it has the throttle blip option buried layers down in the menu. When I do it that way it does not turn off the other safety gubbins. I was reading about the MT drop and thinking you bought in time. And I agree with you on the straight 6. I have the 3.5L straight 6 in the 75 CSL and it is just creamy smooth - lovely snarl to it.
-
Excellent - its still a stick shift! I was worried you were going to go all soft and delicate on us and get an automatic. I will be deeply disappointed if you got any of those comfort things like air con, heated seats, turn signals, etc. Seriously, nice looking beast. I think this is the true spiritual successor to the E30 M3. I had mineral gray on my last BMW SUV - was good for hiding any dirt.

Hopefully your preparations to join Tom and myself at NJMP this weekend as guests of NJMP Drivers Club are well advanced. If you are interested and at the circuit, then at 3pm Friday June 30 we will have a karting contest. It will cost $60 on the day and consist of a practice session, a qualifying session and then a race. Winner gets bragging rights. The rest are losers. Defending Champion is Dave from Ragtops & Roadsters. But he is unable to make it so someone else will be a winner this year! Safety equipment of overalls, neck ring, helmet and enclosed shoes can be provided by NJMP or you can bring your own. Due to another group following us at 4pm, we cannot run late and will need to start sharp at 3pm. Which means meeting at the karting complex at 2.45pm to get signed in/suited up ready to drive karts. Some karts are quicker than others so early arrivals win out. Let me know if you are interested and I will update numbers

Sadly Suave is no longer suave. Shane was never suave so no change there. But, shockingly, they have turned to the dark side of the force and bought a Cobra replica to get their automotive jollies. I know this will be an emotional moment for you as Shane has forgotten the simple joy of going around a corner quick, instead preferring to blip throttle in a straight line. Already you have noticed Shane is no longer on this forum. We should say a prayer for their return to the fold.....at least Suave's return at any rate. Sadly I dont think we will ever see them back at NJMP... ....they banned tractors you know.
-
There is no late fee for guests as far as I know. Worst case you can register guests on the spot on the day but thats not nice for the catering folks. Don's Saturday night event must be registered in advance - he needs to know numbers for catering/seating/drinks.

Oh I feel that pain. I am starting to dial bump steer out of my BMW CSL restoration project. I thought it was toe out but then a quick check told me it was bump steer. I second JohnK's posts as I am using them to think it through on my problem - link was easy to find as i had it bookmarked. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?7989-A-note-on-steering&highlight=bump+steer I found this youtube helpful as I began my journey into curing bump steer:

I agree with you Dan. Its roll bar is designed a way I dont like. You have a bench seat with no head protection against the roll bar. The wheels are the narrow snowflakes and the rubber looks to be the average performance stuff. But you have 350hp. There are a bunch of contradictions that make me wonder as to the end aim of the builder. But anyway...short of time this morning so just posting the links. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1962-Replica-Kit-Makes-/322554740408?hash=item4b19c2beb8:g:dGgAAOSwZKBZE-7~&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOCOST-7-Project-Needs-Finishing-/272719546793?hash=item3f7f5a09a9:g:c4YAAOSwblZZIczG&vxp=mtr https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/6159531760.html https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/6155194142.html https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/6123638854.html https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/6152179924.html https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/6133546134.html https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/6138667584.html https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/6164863903.html https://pennstate.craigslist.org/cto/6150013121.html https://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/6151879848.html https://spacecoast.craigslist.org/cto/6179099276.html https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/6177111801.html https://fortcollins.craigslist.org/cto/6175511002.html https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/6129981146.html https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/6150612570.html https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/6133455231.html https://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/6138227641.html https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/6165344962.html http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Lotus-Super-Seven-/272723673834?hash=item3f7f9902ea:g:8RsAAOSwjvJZRk4e&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-Westfield-Lotus-Super-7-Series-3-/162538767763?hash=item25d810c593:g:028AAOSwsXFZMWJk&vxp=mtr -
Well....my rule of thumb heading south is: 1) Afternoon rush hour traffic scenario around New York and Philly Garden state parkway south until it hits the Noo Joisey Turnpike. Then follow that south until exit 2 - exit and pick up Rt 322 heading east and follow directions that I posted above. 2) Regular traffic day Pick up NJ Turnpike. Truck lanes usually work best - especially weekends. Follow south to exit 4. At end of exit 4 ramp go right on to Rt 73 west towards Philadelphia. Go 0.5 mile and take I-295 south. Get on I-295 south and sit in middle lane (essential). Follow this when it splits for Walt Whitman bridge and Rt 42/I-295 south. Stay in the same lane. About 0.5 mile further Rt42 split off from I-295 south - follow Rt42. Continue to stay in this lane. Follow Rt 42 east and about a mile down the road Rt55 branches off to the south. Take Rt55 south and follow the earlier directions to Millville. If you stay in the center lane on I-295 then you can just flow I-295 to Rt 42 to Rt 55 without a lane change needed. If the time of day is right then option 2 saves about 15-20 minutes from Option 1. If in doubt just go option one - it easy with a trailer.

Assuming you are heading towards Philly on I-76 heading east then: 1) Take exit 331A to get on to I-476 South 2) Follow it to I-95 then take I-95 heading south 3) About 1-2 miles after that, exit 4 on I-95 South will take you onto Rt 322 East across the Commodore Barry Bridge 4) Follow Rt322 heading east until you reach Rt 55 (a CVS and Dunkin Donuts are landmarks on the right about 0.5 mile before the exit) 5) Follow Rt 55 heading south to Exit 24 of Rt 55 (ignore the signs for NJMP exit 27) 6) At the base of the ramp on Exit 24 take a right onto Rt 49 7) Follow Rt 49 through downtown over the bridge and very soon after the bridge take a left onto Cedar Street (Blinkers Custard is on the corner) 8) At the first traffic light take a left onto South Race Street (also known as Rt 555) 9) Follow past the school (on the right) and take the first right onto Dividing Creek Road 10) GPS address is 8000 Dividing Creek Road (although Google maps sometimes shows it as 1701 Dividing Creek Road) Taking I-476 brings you south and away from central Philadelphia traffic.

 No chance. Every other car plus my day job were being worked on. Mustang got a new battery so it is now fighting fit again. CSL electrical issues are making headway. Even the handling issues we are making progress on. Now a starter for the cigarette packet Holden to make it mobile again would be wonderful.

Possibility of Chris S with his 1962 Lotus 7 - assuming he can get it ready in time. And I still dont have some stars in: - possibly Michael D if he has not sold his car? - Matt with his Westfield Visitors - I have heard from Amos and Blake about attending. just a reminder that if you are visiting you will need to register and pay the fee if you wish to come out on track with an instructor and join us for breakfast/lunch, etc or Don's Saturday night party. If you are potentially shopping for a seven, come and check out the event for a day or two. You can try on all the major seven types in one day, chat with knowledgeable owners, see how they perform and meet a bunch of really fun people. You will come away as an informed buyer being smart about your potential purchase.

At first I though you wanted a rocket car - NASA, Space-X, Jet Propulsion Labs, etc. Given your automotive style I would expect nothing less! However, you are looking for a Gordon Murray Light Car Company Rocket. Duncan Hamilton has one for sale $120k area I believe In 2014 one was sold out of FL on Hemmings (look for the Bringatrailer write up) asking $100k. However, I guess you want to be cheap and want a replica so have a read of this post: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1325047 or here http://kitcarlist.com/exoskeleton-kits.html THe closest clone will always be the Brooke R which had a duratec and side by side seating but the look was pure Rocket. http://www.brookecars.com

Caterham S3, SV, CSR size comparison

I think this is the comparison post that Paul referred to - my CSR/SV against the wide version of the Birkin (confusingly termed the "XS"). http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?10560-Birkin-XS-side-by-side-comparison-to-a-Caterham-CSR&highlight=Birkin
