  1. Do you have a live axle car or dedion? A higher final drive number will mean better acceleration and therefore you will have LESS speed in a certain gear. Nobody will carry a pumpkin with the LSD and R&P built in. Yes, the ring gear is interchangable. I've been looking for a LSD for a long time but cant seem to find one at a reasonable price. I believe a LSD will really transform the car because the rear end is so light.

So you have the bilsteins? Are your swaybars adjustable? Were both the R compounds and FF slicks all the same size? Did you play with tire pressures?

my secondhand knowledge has told me that the LSD would most benficial on an IRS car. even teh deDion setup doesn't allow the LSD to function well on such a light car, experience w/ the car car breaking loose is going more helpful. since thats what i was told, thats worth less than 2 cents.

maybe the better final drive is desired so he's not cruising at 3500-4000rpm on the highway? i would have suggested building up the engine for a higher redline to increase top speed in gear.

edit: Danny, where was saturday's event? at first I thought u were talking about sunday, but didn't see u listed in teh results.

  2. Lovely weather at the end of the weekend made up for the lousy friday and saturday. Bill Thomas was an excellent host and many thanks to Atwell for organizing today. Great seeing jack, jen, Mike, and Steve again, plus meeting Ron.

The scheduled drive should definitely be fun a second time, and I plan to look and see if i can recreate the detour that Mike and I took. His Crackberry really saved the day with the delay on 80. My GPS' final gesture was to get 3 cars righted correctly northbound on 209!

  3. Ben told me that after the R500 was tested by the car mags, it wld be for sale for around $70K. Given the plunging $, that is probably not a bad price.

    :auto:

not sure. if the lighted push buttons have some durability to them, i think there have been early issues, it may be worth it.

or Birkin w/ IRS thats Raceline/Ammo powered may be the better option. i'd love to see a 5 way head to head w/ a US spec CSR 260, r500, FM Westfied, Birkin IRS, and Randy Chase's Toniq venture.

what will your dollars buy u new?

  4. uggg. if your friend would be satisfied w/ teh boxter/cayman shape she will save herself money and headaches compared to older 911s. i'd love to have a 911SC or RS(even a swapped 914) but 30-40 year old cars are a passion that needs to be had at the knees up to grease and oil level.

  5. probably be easier to fit in a WCM. Hyundai had to do a bunch of work changing the orientation from tranverse w/ an AWD transmission to a longtudinal orientation w/ a rwd box. many of the EVO X modification don't work on the Genesis 2.0t.

it is a very nice car for the money. absolutely overweight, but very fun w/ simple mods.

  6. Jon, i can totally sympathize. I got thru it w less damage than u did. just be thankful that the end of the season is upon us so u can fix the arm and not lose excellent driving weather in the process.

really? mine is a straight tube w/ a small radius turn. i beleive Orange's was as well til the raceline water rail was installed. many others too, thats why I think its a new design. Its the rubber S connecter hose that really caught my attention.
