By backer board do you mean the bar stiched into the tonneau? You’d have to have cut that, correct?
Yes, you will need to make a small, "U" shaped cut to radius around where the threaded bolt holes are located. It's a hair over 1/4" on mine. I'll post a picture when I can.

Thanks Bill, much appreciated. So in essence you slit around the bolts so it can still be removed with them in place, correct? Did you stitch around the slit or anything similar to reinforce the vinyl? My inclination is to do the same with a fastener either side of the belt mounts to try to keep things snug.
I did not stitch around the slits, but used a quality automotive carpet/trim adhesive to keep them attached to the backer board. The spacing of the male snaps for when the tonneau ever gets installed, start in the middle and work your way out, you may need to place the farthest snaps out from the center to clear the shoulder strap bolts, can't remember if I did nor not, but they do work well for the drivers side (SWMBO prefers the stock 3 point harness at the moment) without the need for 6th and 7th snap needing to be installed.......

I have five male snaps, equally spaced, screwed down to install mine, but I did have to carefully notch it so the bolts for the shoulder straps (not shown installed in picture) could stay in place. The front snaps are for the rear of the tonneau cockpit cover. I can take detailed pictures for you next weekend if you need them so you can get a better understanding of how it is mounted.
Hope you find this helpful.

Bill - The pan bolts should be 8 x 1.25 x 35mm long. Not sure of oil capacity because I haven't changed the oil yet, but it should be right around 4 qts.
Bruce,
Thanks, I confirmed with Caterham UK that the 3.8-4L is correct, this is just a hair over 4 quarts US, so I am good to go there. Also appreciate the bolt size, when I am back in town I'll be able to get those two vacant holes filled with the proper bolts, which will make my ADHD brain happy.

I've installed the Caterham spec wet sump pan on my 1.6L Sigma engine, from what I can now see, I've now uncovered two extra bolt holes for the Caterham pan to bellhousing that for my sanity, I need to add bolts to, even though the stock pan did not use these bolt holes. I am thinking 1.5" in in length, but I am uncertain of the thread pitch as I am not with the car at the moment, can anyone assist?
In addition, can someone confirm oil capacity at 4 quarts, I vaguely remember 3.8-4L as being the capacity, but there is no real paperwork with the pan as delivered by Caterham, UK.
Thanks in advance,
Bill S.

Hmmmm, I'll be in NJ next week, but believe SWMBO would not allow me to try and squeeze a 5th car in the 2 car garage :D

Hey everyone, I posted in the Pacific thread but I figure I'll introduce myself here as well.
Name is Chris from Vegas, I've been a Lotus enthusiast since I was a kid. Despite never having owned one until my 28th birthday. As a kid I had a poster of the Lotus 340R in my room. I think it was secretly training my subconscious for when I grew up. I ended up having interest in motorcycles on my teens and left home to go to technical school. Since then, I've worked in every position in the motorcycle industry. In that time, I bought my first car which was a 2003 MINI Cooper S. That started my real love of cars.
That was eight years ago now. Two years ago I bought my dream car which was a 2005 Lotus Elise. I had it for a year. Six months of that year it spend time in a shop waiting for an entire front clam due to hitting an animal. I loved that car but I had owned my dream car and it was time to let it go after that bad experience. (A week after getting it back a truck here on a Vegas highway kicked up a 2x4 and scratched the fresh front clam paint. It was at that moment I decided to sell the car.) I ended up buying an AMG GLA45 to replace both the Lotus and MINI as a do everything car. Which I quickly realized I didn't like a one car for all solution.
I had done so much research and had watched so many videos and read through books relating to Lotus and Colin Chapman over the years since I was a kid. Colin and drivers like Jim Clark became my heroes, and I didn't want any car that I didn't think fit the 'add lightness' philosophy of Colin. ( My lizard's name is Chapman). I have books and flags and model cars and everything Lotus in my house. I'm obsessed. So a couple months into the AMG ownership I decided I needed another sports car. I wasn't satisfied with the rather large and heavy AMG. Even though the power is ridiculous and the car is fun in its own way.
I decided I had to go crazier than the Elise. So a Seven was the logical step. Over the last six months I've been diving in and researching and following forums to find information and take a look at the type of Sevens I could get my hands on. Caterham was ideal but they weren't really in my budget. I settled on GBS to build a car for me but that came with its own issues. So I stepped back a little and just started following the for sale posts in this forum. Going back and forth with what spec is want or what I'd settle for.
I ended up not settling luckily and getting into a car that really fit me. So I picked up this 1994 HPC that was on Hemmings for a while. I'm happy with the spec, it checked every box for me. And while I was worried at first for right hand drive, I fell in love with it. The previous owners all kept a full history since the car was new from the original build manuals and engine specifications to the import paperwork for when it arrived in the US via an owner in the military.
Thanks for all the great information stored in this forum. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions. Sorry for my long winded post. I just have a long history with following Lotus.

Steve,
Having taking 1 Caterham and multiple track prepped Cobra replicas through the Enhanced Inspection process, I can simplify this for you:
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Hand-Crank-Manual-Windshield-Wiper,2301.html
You will need the additional clip on bracket
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Manual-Hand-Windshield-Wiper-Mount-Bracket,3416.html
Simple, inexpensive, and removable, and checks off the "must have windshield wiper" for your finicky inspector.

Has anybody ordered a part from overseas and had to supply your SSN? I just recently ordered a part from the UK and they're requesting my SSN for Fedex to ship to the US. This is the first time I've run into this and I'm concerned with giving out my SSN. Thoughts or experiences?
Call Fed Ex directly to figure out whether this is required or not.

Coincidentally, I got an email from Martin Phillip at Caterham UK, he sent me a copy of the original sales order for my car, along with the much sought after paint code for the 40th Anniversary cars. Now, for anyone who googles the 2013 Caterham Anniversary Edition, they will now have it as follows:
40YOC paint code of GM BRILLIANT RED MICA "75".
Cool stuff indeed.

I've been traveling recently and not focused on anything "7" related besides ordering parts from my good friend, Rick at Time Machine
. Today I get a call from none other than George Alderman (yes, that George A.) in regards to a simple inquiry I had sent his son about my 2013 Caterham. Turns out that my car is the very last Caterham that George personally ordered new and built up. George spent about 35 minutes on the phone with me talking about why he ordered it, and what plans he had for the car before deciding to finally sell to the person I bought it from. Advised George I was going to add the low profile "wet sump" from Caterham, a dropped floor for the drivers side, and the upper shaft/removable steering wheel set up for the car, along with my frustrating search for the 195/45/15 replacement tires (tires on the car are 2013 dated). George was surprised by a few of those choices, but could see where I am headed with the car, turning it into a nice weekend street cruiser while I await my next Cobra replica build. George was even more surprised that we had met before, roughly 18 years ago at his very shop/dealership, guess I'm just not as memorable as he was to me, go figure
. George was very gracious, and I much appreciated his time and insight. Wish everyone I dealt with in the specialty car circles was as open and honest. It's been two hours, I'm still excited about the call, just had to share.
Humbly submitted

Hey @Road Ready. Not a 7 owner yet but have ordered and my build slot is week 17, 2022. I'm just over the state line (South) and am in Asheville A LOT.
We'll be in touch. I'm busting waiting for this lil car. I'm thinking after drivetrain installation, registration and such we will be up and running say late summer 2021. Here's hoping, anyway.
If you're on Instagram, I'm @UglyFast there as well.
Where in SC are you?

Just a heads-up, I've been trying to sell a set virtually identical to these at about half this price with no luck. Even on the MG forums. If you find a buyer, let me know and tell their friends.
I did a pretty deep google search and did not find anything used for sale. As always, appreciate the feedback and I am open to reasonable offers.

Just as stated in the title, I have a complete set of 5-14"x6" Minator by KN Wheels of the UK 4x108mm
Virtually brand new, as most likely originally purchased, based on the tire dates of "2301" (June, 2001)
Avon SV-1 185/60/R14 Tires (stamped made in England) are brand new, yet 20 years old, maybe good for rolling around the garage/storage, or maybe even a great display item.
Price for all is $850

Thanks, will dig in as soon as I can and let you know what I find.

@mrmustang Is it a red LED on the base of the speedo? Or is it on the tach? Do you have the digital ODO or the old style rolling barrel one? You have a 2012 car so should be old style pre-2015 speedo with the LED.
Caterhams "check engine light" is not as sophisticated as a regular car so it will not alert you to much on the engine other than electrics which is usually somewhere in the alternator line of thinking. Is it on at start up then goes away? Or does it stay on and never go off?
If it is the same LED light that I am thinking of, then betting odds would have me looking at:
- alternator belt tension
- alternator voltage output
- that the chassis earth is still in place.
- battery condition
If it is on at start up and then eventually goes away after half a minute then that is normal.
Digital odometer, check engine light on tachometer, see attached picture (car running for several minutes).
Have not checked any of the above yet, but will as soon as I can get a cool day to get back in to the garage (107 showing inside just now).
Battery should be ok, as I have yet to charge or plug in trickle charger and it fired right up, even after sitting for almost a month disused. May pull it out and bench test it just to play it safe.
Anything else I should be looking for or at?
As always, your guidance is much appreciated, as this new fangled, computer controlled stuff is not as fun as pure mechanicals are.

I'd like to find out what is causing the check engine light on the dash to be on
Of course with lack of use, it could be as simple as a leak in a vacuum line, a bad injector, or even a bad oxygen sensor, but it would be nice to narrow it down so I'm not tearing down the ancillaries in a "hunt and peck" to find the solution. Any ideas?
Rick has graciously offered his cable for this, but it may be a month or so before I catch up with him at Olthoffs in NC
Thanks again for your assistance

I rarely respond to my own post, but Rick from Time Machines Motorsports in NY gave me the following excellent information:
"The read port is in the left foot well behind a 3" rubber plug. It is OBD style but OBD will not read it. The software is "Easimap" and requires an app (not a program) to read it and a proprietary cable to connect."
Tried finding the Easimap ap in the apple store, but did not find it there. I did however find it via Google and now will learn as much as I can.

May or may not be specific to my 1.6L Sigma engine, but does anyone know if the 2013 Caterham engine loom had an OBD or OBD2 connection?
Any assistance to the above would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

The screws that came with my fastener kit for the Tonneau are 1/2" long, Removing the strip I do not recommend as it is used as a stiffener (it prevents the material from being pulled and torn), if you want, you can always move it back accordingly and install that way. When you see mine as it is now, with the shoulder harness installed, you'll see it makes for a cleaner install/build for the boot cover and the harness assembly.
