I had the full hood on last weekend for pending rain for the first time. Didn’t drive it with it on. But got some practice putting it on. You get some really strange questions. It maybe your first time but not the first time a Seven has been in the mix at such an event. This year we’ve been to dozens mixed car shows. Funny, we have yet to win a prize. Got beat out by cars like a '63 VW Beetle and twice by the same '78 Honda Civic. Oh well, still a lot of fun to attend. Vovchandr Posted September 11 Author Share Posted September 11 (edited) Back from the track day Car did great overall. Only things that failed are aftermarket components. Westermann CSR aluminum wing stay failed on driver side and I was battling through bad throttle mapping in the ECU throughout with lean conditions causing misfires. I think there is some bad juju on the driver front wheel. Original owner had his bolted fender fly off on driver side, I had first round of Sika flex fail when I glued fenders first time, then I had rivcerts fail out of the stay on the track day same day, next track day I had driver fender issues and now this year with a new stay and new fender failures again. Could be that side is generating more heat due to bad bearings or dragging calipers or something. Maybe I'll just go open wheel next time entirely? Time to send my oil for analysis to Blackstone to check whats going on with engine and do an oil change. It's been in there about 2 years. Very surprised that people don't know about this. @NSXguy @Croc Blackstone https://www.blackstone.com/ slight bend... Had to cut off Sikaflex in the back. Held on strong! All the tools brought came to use (of course couldn't find my ball joint breaker tool specific for Caterham before I left ) Bent that far, no easy way to remount Hella flush! Second time it doesn't want to survive a track day. Last time sika flex failed. Then hardware bolts failed. This year the actual metal of the bigheads has failed on 3 out of 4 fasteners. I only have 2 spares on hand so will have to order more. I have a feeling there is something wrong with the fairing stay so I will also be replacing it. Lucky I have one on hand. ' The next two years (2022/2023) I wasn't on the track and now that I went this year another driver failure on completely different components. New wingstay and fenders. very peculiar. That makes my batting average 1.000 as I'm 4 out 4 for driver failures on track days in many different flavors for mounts and fenders. It was pretty close but since the fender floats with wheel it never contacted. Either way that's the first iteration of my mounts/fenders that came with the car. Since then I've switched 2 or 3 times. Barely had time to test the @catsv7 gave me and adjustments @NSXguy suggested I do to the fuel map table. Acting like a blind squirrel looking for nuts I was able to throw some numbers into the tables that seemed to fix that part throttle flat spot/stumble/misfire I had. I only did a quick test @catsv7 car didn't really start well with your profile and map and shot a major fireball upon one of startups. Barely ran. I took screenshots and compared data between our setups. They are different but aren't night and day so not quite sure why it acted so bad.
