Daniel Escobar Posted Friday at 04:43 PM Posted Friday at 04:43 PM (edited) Hi everyone, I wanted to share a bit about my project and ask if anyone here has experience with this setup. I own a 2105 Caterham R300 (ex racer that in slowly converting to street, 210 hp Duratec, currently with an older analog loom + analog gauges) and I’m upgrading to the newer Caterham OEM CAN-based gauges (Caerbont Automotive Instruments). What I’m Trying to Do: I’m running the MBE9M4 ECU, which has CAN H/L available and is already pushing things like RPM + coolant temp over CAN. I’m looking to configure it to correctly feed: Tachometer (CAN) Water temp (CAN) Oil pressure (once I wire the sender to the ECU) Fuel level (this one’s tricky — Caterham’s gauge expects CAN, but I’m unsure if the MBE can handle fuel input or if I need a CAN bridge) 1. Has anyone here done this conversion or worked with this gauge + ECU combo? 2. Does anyone with a newer 420R (2015+) with the MBE9M4 and CAN gauges have Easimap + CAN interface access and could help pull or export their CAN stream configuration? 3. How do modern Caterhams handle signal from ECU on the CAN line? Are they wired into the ECU first, or is there an extra module in the harness? My current setup: ECU: MBE9M4 (unlocked) Gauges: Fuel gauge: 30D060A Tachometer: 30D057A Oil pressure: 30D059A Water temp: 30D061A Loom: Caterham OEM loom (CAN line prewired, just needs ECU splice) I’m also working with SBD Motorsport to sort the CAN stream configuration, but I thought the community might have some great insights or even reference configs. If anyone has experience, tips, or even is willing to share a CAN config file from their car, I’d hugely appreciate it! Some pics of my car This is my old dash layout: some WIP: the new layout: Happy to share more pics or details! Thank you so much in advance! Best, Daniel Edited Friday at 04:46 PM by Daniel Escobar
