Waterproof electrical connector?

A little self-fusing silicone tape will make any connector waterproof, and because it is not really tape (no adhesive - just bonds to itself only), it comes off cleanly. Sold under a variety of names; Lots of uses. I carry a roll in my car. A bit expensive, but very useful.

Seen it at Home Depot, among other places, but a more reasonable price here: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/2725/Motorcycle_Supplies

Mike - Thanks. Have you used them? I need to take the connection apart about once a year - can't tell how well they would support that type of use.

Steve,

Yes, I use them. They are very durable and can be unfastened and refastened multiple times.

The other suggestions are good but if you want to invest in a dedicated tool to do Weatherpack/Metripack/open barrel connectors this is a good tool at a reasonable price.

At least a lot less than a hundred bucks.

I've used the posi-lock connectors also and they work well.
