:ack::willy_nilly: Good grief! I am speechless. What on earth possessed him to build that automotive Liberace?

That thing is even more ridiculous when you read his note at the end of the ad. "in no way is this the real car that was used in the movie in any way. I have never stated that it was-only that it is a replica of the real car used in the movie. " So it is a replica of a 6000 lb goofymobile.

The Lotus 7 S4 with BDR in CO is back. Its white in body color from memory. This has been on and off for sale for a long time. Set up as a race car. The engine alone is probably worth $12-14k (fresh would be high teens to low 20s) of the value of this car. Check that it is R spec and not some lesser spec (e.g. A, G, etc) as that impacts value greatly. Beats the dealer S4 above by a long way. Only asking $23900 Twin cam engined cars sometimes go for more. No photos so it probably needs cosmetic work but at this price it is worth checking it out.

Caterham crossflow gone up for sale in NJ. Looks like a reseller from a car that came from TX.

Also on BAT here

While still living in NJ, I went to look at a Pantera and Contemporary Cobra replica he had on Ebay at the time. Actually bought an old Jeep Wrangler with a plow many years ago from him. He is right on the border of Bridgewater and Warren, NJ and appears to make a decent living by reselling.

Guys the 05 Birkin on Craigslist in Austin is mine. I listed the builder as just MSI which should be MSI Motorsports / BirkinSport back when it was run by Woody Harris.

The car weighs 1234 with about a half tank of gas on 15 inch wheels and Toyo R888 tires running the full windshield. The car is well sorted and ready to go anywhere the updates beyond Woody's build include a better catch can system like the one Folis used. The stock fuel tank was modified for an internal fuel pump and better baffling with check valves to eliminate all of the starvation issues caused by the stock baffling and odd pick up location. I also had the MSI alternator mount rebuilt with extra gussets added. The taller roll bar was built to meet requirements of the BMW and Porsche clubs just to deal with new rules used to block Ariel Atoms that required the fenders to be mounted to the chassis of the car.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Eraser-X - sorry, I did not miss your car deliberately. For some reason my search script is not picking it up in the results twice - as a Birkin or Lotus 7. Maybe it is google again? Ah the mysteries of an intermittent IT issue.

Hey folks, I got a call from an older gent named Delmar who is 71 and looking for a fun car that is rear wheel drive, lightweight, and can handle. His budget is about $30K. Based on a chat with him, I think a Seven clone of some sort would be perfect. He does not want flashy attention. He does not want attention from the local law enforcement. I told him a huge benefit of the Seven is the positive respect and responses it draws.

Does anyone have anything that would be a good fit? Only doing this as a favor to the guy.

p.s. He mentioned, the lighter the better and he likes bike engine cars. DO not know how handy he is.

Feel free to email me at my name @ gmail.com or PM me for this phone number.

Randy - some questions:

1) Is he mobile enough to get in or out of a seven? Some people have joint issues or arthritis at that age.

2) How big is he - height, weight? Will he fit a seven vehicle or does he need something wider?

3) Does he prefer a traditional look (Birkin or Caterham) or a mode modern look (Stalker)?

4) Which state are we looking at for registration here? That may drive the vehicle choice.

People could throw cars at you for suggestions but they may not be great fits for the gentleman - just trying to narrow it down to make it better for you.

I don't think any Se7en qualifies for that. :D

I don't know many of the answers, I should have asked more. He called me out of the blue after seeing the Toniq I had in SEMA about 7-8 years ago. He decided he wanted to buy one now. He is in Las Vegas and I told him as a favor I would see if there was some car for sale I could connect him with. He was willing to drive to look at a car if it was in SoCal, so not sure about cars located more than 6 hours away.

Looks? He did not know what a Seven was. In our conversation and understanding his budget, I mentioned maybe a Polaris Slingshot as a good choice. He said no... he knows what they are and they are too flashy (which I think means he does not like the angular styling) and he wants 2 driving wheels in the rear. He did mention a perfect car would weigh 800 pounds :) be RWD, midengined, and use a motorcycle engine. My other thought for him was something like the 818 kit car which I believe can be made pretty inexpensively.

As of right now I have three emails which I will pass on to him via phone. He does not use the computer. I am happy to help him out, but also need to not make this my job. One thing I have learned the very hard way... my downfall in the car business is I try to hard to help people which has screwed me a few times. Live and learn... or in my case probably just live....

Super Storker at a dealer in Indiana - Gator Motorsport (seems apt eh?).

You are looking at one of the nicest Brunton SuperStalker’s ever commissioned! Chassis # 97, which was originally owned by Dennis Brunton himself, was sold to the previous owner and then sold to its most recent owner in WV. This is truly a one of a kind car. With a GM 3.8L Supercharged V6 engine producing 300+ hp mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual and weighing in under 1,400 pounds, this car is not for the faint of heart. Based off of the Lotus Seven, this Stalker was constructed in 2008 by Brunton Automotive. On April 18, 2008, Stalker Kit #97-7372872 was certified and signed by Dennis Brunton himself. This two-owner vehicle, with just over 2k miles, is in mint condition and is ready for the open road. Vehicle comes with a the original wheels and a brand new set of Bridgestone Potenza RE71R tires along with a set of $5,000 American Racing Shelby AR-42 knockoffs mounted on Hoosier slicks. Check out the photos and how detailed this build was! No expense was spared and there are too many options to list! Total estimated build cost $65k+

This vehicle has seen an interior, exterior, and engine bay detail. This vehicle comes with a binder full of documentation and invoices, many listing all modifications and history.

The Hollywood Birkin belongs to Russ Strough. We drove together a Summit Point for a few years before he moved to New England. Back then there were two Birkins and two Caterhams at most NASA events. I am the the last one running this year.

As I recall that is a faster car than mine and Russ was a good driver who took good care of his cars. A good buy for someone.
