  1. Yes, it sold in 2012, but I guess I never mentioned that here. Thanks everyone for your interest, it went to a great home
  2. Yes it is still available. I will let everyone know when it is sold.
  3. Good to see you here on the board! I don't really have any good videos, but this is one of me on the track a couple of years ago, before the car was painted. Sorry for the wind noise:
  4. The car is still for sale and the asking price is now $13,500.
  5. If I'm not mistaken, that is only true of some cars. You may be thinking of the bumper requirement. According to the website shown below, "Passenger cars manufactured after September 1, 1973 must also meet bumper standards". There are many foreign vehicles manufactured after 1973 which do not meet the minimum standards for bumpers in Canada and the USA, which is why they cannot be imported. Canada has a requirement that bumpers must withstand a 8km/h impact for production cars only. Since my car is a custom vehicle, there was no practical way to prove it could do this, so I was exempt of this requirement. This may be true in the USA as well, but I think it may vary by state. This site outlines the steps needed to import into the USA: http://www.bordercenter.org/chem/vehicles.htm Another option is that I could export the car as a "race car".
  6. Yes, the title is a 2009. To legally register it in Ontario, I needed to have a VIN assigned to the car, which was done in 2009. I don't know what would be involved if you wanted to bring this car to the USA, but I would be willing to work with anyone who is interested. I don't mind bringing the car across the boarder. I also have an American (mph) speedometer that I could put into the car.

  10. It’s a sad day for me, but I think it is time to sell my car. There are a lot of things that are changing in my life over the next year and as a result, I will have to let it go if I can find a good home for it. I have driven it during the summer for the past 4 years and it has brought me a lot of enjoyment. Everything works perfectly. This car has never let me down, or left me stranded at the side of the road. The ride is relatively smooth, with no raddles or squeaks. The car is practical enough to be driven every day or taken on a vacation, while still shining at car shows. I get thumbs up every time I drive the car. It has been enjoyed, but never abused or raced. It has never spent a night, or winter’s day outside. It has spent most of its life in an insulated garage. The car is powered by a fuel injected Ford 5.0L V8, which I love having in this car. The engine has always started on the first crank, and runs very smooth. The sound of the V8 brings shivers down my spine every time I hear the engine start. The torque from the engine is intense and feels never ending, from about 1800rpm and up. The car is so light that the engine effortlessly brings it up to speed. It’s like having a V8 Mustang with half the weight. The rev limiter was removed from the computer so the engine is capable of turning 7000+rpm. Despite all of this power, the car actually gets reasonable fuel economy (yes, I keep track). Due to the cars’ light weight, the engine does not need to work very hard, or use much gas to get up to speed. It averages about 10.5L/100km in mixed city/Hwy driving, which is comparable to the real world fuel economy of a midsize sedan. The car has full weather equipment, including a convertible top and doors. With the doors on, very little wind noise comes into the cockpit. This does an excellent job of forcing the air over your head, so you can enjoy the sunshine in the day or the stars at night, without wind blasting in your face. If you like the wind to blast in your face, it takes 5mins to remove the 2 bolts that hold the doors on, and you can enjoy the open car feel to the fullest. Specifications Odometer: 12,000km Year: 2009 Weight: Approx. 1850lbs dry Top Speed: I have no idea, so don’t ask Fuel Economy: I average 10.5L/100km Engine/Drivetrain -Fuel Injected 5.0L Ford V8 -3.27 gears, with limited slip -5 speed manual transmission (T5) -PowerMaster MasterTorque gear reduction starter is quiet, and starts the car reliably -Custom 3” thick radiator, with automatic electric cooling fan -New Generation Premium clutch (2012) -Cherry bomb mufflers -Exhaust has catalytic converters, to help save the environment -10 Gallon fuel cell, with fuel gauge and built in fuel pump -Electronic cooling fan Suspension -4 Wheel double wishbone independent suspension -4 Wheel disc brakes -Competition Engineering Teflon lined rod ends -Alden Eagle Shocks -American made from billet aluminum -Rebound/ compression adjustable -Adjustable preload -Use standard 2.5” x 10” springs Frame -Coated with POR-15 -Frame built using 1.0”x1.0” square tubing, with 0.100” wall -Frame based on the Haynes Roadster, only 2” wider and 6” longer -Frame was significantly reinforced to increase torsional rigidity over the standard Lotus frame to account for the large displacement engine.
