RIP David. I owe many thanks to him for building my excellent R400. - James.
  2. Hi Paul, here is the main resource for importing vehicles into Canada: http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/safevehicles-importation-index-443.htm The import regulations are determined at the federal government level, but each province can determine whether they will accept RHD vehicles or not. Inter-provincial transfers (i.e. register the vehicle in one province, then re-sell or transfer to another) also will require safety checks. Insurance requirements to be able to register a vehicle also vary from province to province. British Columbia is generally the most liberal in accepting kit and RHD cars from an insurance and registration perspective, Alberta is OK, Ontario seems to be more difficult and Quebec possibly the hardest.

That's good that you're making progress. Looks like I've got a bit more work to do, too. Not just a simple issue of a failing TPS. The brand new one also has spikes with the same characteristics as the old one (typically 2 to 4 at a time 50 milliseconds or so wide, occurring every minute or two, but only when the TPS output is from the min 1.3V to about 2V), so I'll have to look at potential cross talk, grounding and other electrical noise issues. James.

Hopefully you can get it back on the road this weekend, unfortunately it doesn't look much like good blatting weather. Have to do a bit of work on the Caterham too, some rough running that it has been experiencing seems to be getting worse, getting spikes in the TPS voltage between closed and a quarter throttle according to data logging I did on the weekend. Just got a new TPS sensor today, so hopefully that will fix the issue. James.

Any idea yet if you can get the driveshaft out without removing the engine & transmission? Pity you missed the 2nd day at Ft Macleod, nicer weather and warmer tyres (at least for the 2nd and 3rd run group, which wasn't us!). james.

Wideband lambda sensor and controller now in hand to fit in my Caterham, but Econoseal connectors to finish the wiring seem to be stranded somewhere in Canada Post on the way from the UK. Hopefully back on the road within a couple of weeks, with the weather being so good for the time of year.
