  1. The car is in Pontiac MI with 1200 miles on the odometer. Driven a few dozen times on the M1 Concourse circuit. Well maintained and in great condition.
  2. Lovely 2015 model in Caterham F1 livery with Sigma engine, lowered floor, detachable steering wheel and 6 speed gear box. Runs beautifully. Includes uninstalled lightweight flywheel. $40k.
  3. I have a Caterham 280 at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac. Sigma engine, lowered floor, fancy F1 paint job. Runs beautifully. Includes an uninstalled lightweight flywheel.
  4. It is getting a little crisp outside, and when the snows fly my weekly outings on the M1 track in Pontiac, MI will be coming to an end, but at least I get to park my Caterham 280 here, in my two level shrine to F1 and Sports Car racing in the 1950s to 80s. This little lair is my sanctuary, and once covid has passed, I will finally be able to share it with friends and family.
  5. I haven't tried yet! Thanks so much for your help.
  6. I haven't tried yet! Thanks so much for your help.
  7. I have a 2015 Caterham 7 280. The turn signals and hazzard lights stopped working a couple of months ago. My mechanic traced the problem down to a black plasticbox about the size of a cigarette pack, but Caterham parts says these are back ordered in a serious way. Does anyone have one they would be willing to sell? If so, for how mych?
  8. My 2015 Caterham 7 280 has one Sterling immobilizer that stopped working. My second immobilizer works fine. Does the failed immobilizer need a new battery? If so, how do I obtain it? And if not, what is liklely the cause of the failure? I really hate these immobilizers. I only use the car on the track, so this bit of British technology is nothing but a nuisance. Can the immobilizer be easily eliminated?
  9. Forgive me if this is a topic that has been covered to death but... I have a 2015 Caterham 280 with 14 inch wheels. I have read that it would be better to track the car on 13 inch wheels. Why is this true? Lower center of gravity perhaps? And if I were to buy 13 inch wheels, what specs would be appropriate, and would I need to change other things in the car such as speedometer settings? Thanks, Rick Ratliff
  10. Here is my car (though I don't know the paint codes): http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14908&stc=1
  11. Thanks, all. What about tire pressures? Does anyone overinflate the tires, and if so by how much?
  12. As the owner of a new Caterham 280, I am planning to let my baby sleep through the winter. I plan to attach it to a trickle charger (any suggestions about brands?), increase the tire pressure on the Avon tires (10 psi above recommended levels?) and add stabilizer to the gas tank(how much stabilizer?). Am I making any mistakes or leaving anything out?
  13. The rubber spleen on the edge of my passenger side front fender is loose. What should I use to adhere it back to the painted fiberglass fender? Silicone?
  14. I have a new Caterham Seven 280 with a 1.6 liter Ford Sigma engine generating 140hp. After 10 minutes of driving the engine operating temperature is typically 180 degrees F. but that shows up as two thirds of the way up the scale toward overheating on the dashboard gauge. Everything I have read about the running temperature for this engine suggests that 180 is a normal operating temperature. Is my car running hot, do I have the wrong gauge in my car or is something else at play here?
  15. While driving my new Caterham green and yellow Super Seven on Huron River Drive this morning, I actually passed another Seven going in the opposite direction! This other Seven has a yellow nose and a British Racing Green body. If the driver is on this forum, please identify yourself!
  16. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14418&stc=1 Thanks for all your kind words, everybody. She is now safely in Michigan. Now I have to get her registered and out on the streets!
  17. I just bought this beauty, a 280 being shipped to me from Arizona. I am thrilled to join you all!http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14369&stc=1
