I raced an MR2 in GT3. My best bud raced Legends. The day he got his Legends car we spent the day trying to tear it up. Anyway, first thing we found out was we didn't know how to look cool getting in and out. All we could do was fall our shoulders out the door and then crawl ourselves out onto the grounds. I never did get good at driving or getting in and out of that thing. He finally got cool enough to race it at DMS, Sebring, Laguna Seca, Infineon, Buttonwillow, etc. I did finally quit falling out the window of my Toyota. LIVE LIFE ON THE REV LIMITER!!! Racerdan

Yeah, I don't doubt I can get in. It's the getting out that has me worried. A friend of mine a few years back spent over 4 hours in a formula ford in his garage. Bad arm and over weight. His wife still claims it was all an act. She says he could have gotten out if he wanted to.. She said he'd sleep in that car if she'd let him.

I had mine done on August 1st and I'm still in some discomfort. My Doc says I'm way ahead of schedule but don't plan on being back on top for 8-12 months. I'm 62 and I've been fighting this since 92. The other 2 things that worry me are being able to pull myself in and out. I have quite a bit of stenosis(sp) and I may not get much of that back. Also, through lack of exercize, my ass width had increased exponentially. The construction will mean lots of bending stooping and reaching. Hope I can get there....or learn to compensate. Racerdan

I was almost ready to start construction on my 7 but I got sidetracked with a 3 level spine fusion. I don't know what the long term prognosis is. Has anybody on here been through this? I'm not sure I'll ever be able to put a car on like a shoe again. Comments please.

This is posted on the Dallas/Ft. Worth Craig's list today.

I rode a 360 Bandido for a while around 1970...Quite a foul, mean, nasty machine. Oh, and fast..did I mention fast? RacerDan

I'd like to hear some feedback on seats too. I had Kirkey in my GT-3 and they were OK for 30 minute races. I'm not sure if they would do for any extended length of time. I like the looks of the Cobra or Corbeau. My butt isn't that narrow either.

I've always had a real soft spot for Panasports. I wanted to put them on my 914 but never did. They would look awsome on a 7.

Does anyone know of a Minilite style wheel ie. Panasport; Rota, that has a 5 bolt pattern that will fit the Stalker?

Russ I posted a reply but it must have gone into limbo... I'd love to come up in August. The first 914 event I attended was in Hot Springs and all I had to show was pictures of a pile of car parts. Wife and I love KC. We haven't been in a couple of years but love the Plaza lights at Christmas. I just realized I sent that other e-mail to you rather than post. "alzhiemers" Dan

Mondo.....I loved racing bikes when I was younger but I really sucked at it. Spent a lot of time face down in the dirt. 4 wheels definately suits my sense of balance better. After leaving the fire service I stayed in safety as an inspector and coordinator. I'm retired now and so glad to be done trying to keep people from being dumb, then cleaning them up when they don't listen. JACK, WOW there are alot of Stalker guys on here. No, I haven't been up to Fred's yet. I was going to go to Hallett this weekend and watch him run his FV. My best friend is going to Hallett in a couple of weeks to run in a Vette meet and if I go then I might get some wheel time so I thought I'd pass on the vintage race. I warned Fred I'd be up in a few weeks. I need to find out how far along he is on his super. I want to see more than a pile of parts. A friend of mine in OKC is a streetrod builder and has lots of good connections. I put him on finding me a 3.4 motor yesterday.

I've seen Fred Storer at Hallett a couple of times with his Stalker #4 car. I'm going to make a trip up to his shop in a week or two to see the super he's building.

I just saw Ken Edney's name on here. I was just looking at your car on the Stalker Gallery. Did you get your secondaries working. Have you gotten any times with all of the carb working? Oh, I guess it's appropriate to introduce myself. I'm Dan Gamble from Tulsa, OK. I'm a 61 year old retired Firefighter. I retired in 95 and spent the last 10 years as safety coordinator for a large medical system. I drag raced a 65 GTO in the late 60's. Motocrossed in the early 70's, Then didn't do much until about 95 when I built a Porsche 914 autocrosser from the ground up. The wife and I autocrossed that and others for a few years then I built a GT-3 MR2 and raced it until last year. The competitive flame has kind of flickered but not the need for speed or the need to tinker........leading me to where I am now. I'm not too good at posting pictures (I usually screw it up) but I've got a few of our racer days. RacerDan

Hey, another stalker guy....how many are on here? RacerDan

Yes I don't know what the focus of this forum is but I'm a 7 lover. I fell in love with the Stalker V6 the first time I saw it in GRM mag several years ago. I sold my GT-3 Toyota last year. I retired last year and now it's time. I can't start the actual build for about 18 months but I put feelers out for a motor and Tranny and I am accumulating parts. I hope to have most everything by the time I'm ready. Now I just hope Brunton Motors does'nt go out of business.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I have a Dr. appointment and x-rays tomorrow. I'm trying to chronicle this adventure as best I can. I've got some pretty gruesome pics of my back opened up. It's a long way in to your spine. I was looking at the pics and asked the if the white thing was the back side of my belly button. Come to find out it was bone.
Right now I'm just hoping to get started on my build soon. I don't feel like it will happen before next spring or summer. I may just have to find me an S-2 and forget about the build.
