The need to make space in my garage for a new project forces me to sell my 2003 Birkin S3, which I have owned since new.
This Birkin is powered by a 190 bhp 2-liter Ford Zetec, Webcon fuel-injected and coupled to a Ford T-9 5-speed. Painted dark blue with a silver hood stripe and black interior, both driver’s seat and pedals are adjustable to accommodate drivers of all sizes. I’m 6’2” and 195 lbs. and fit fine.
Purchased new in January 2004 from Wire Wheel Sports Cars in Vero Beach, FL, it's registered in Missouri as a "1967 Birkin".
Only driven on the street for a total of 7,600 miles, it has never been raced or run at track days. It is a one-owner car with complete maintenance history, including an upgraded clutch assembly installed in 2005.
The car comes complete with full “weather kit” including folding top and side curtains, tonneau cover, heated windshield and cockpit heat with three-position fan. It has never overheated, even in typically hot and humid Midwest summer conditions.
The original build included many upgrades, including Webcon fuel injection; Raceline water rails; steel braided brake/clutch lines, updated electrical system, tie-rod “gator” covers, Panasport wheels, including the mounted spare, fitted with Z-rated Pirelli P700 195/50-15 tires; and side wind deflectors.
All build manuals – including both printed copies and a CD-Rom – are included in the sale, along with all maintenance records, receipts, and source information for replacement parts.
The car is in overall excellent condition, with only a few seat scratches and routine rock chips on the fenders. It has been an extremely reliable, fun, attention-getting ride for me for the past six+ years.
Asking price is $25,000 and the car is located in St. Louis, Missouri. I can be contacted through this forum, the Birkin owners group, e-mail (danlayton47@earthlink.net) or phone (314-614-9763).
Several more pictures also available on request.
Thanks,
Dan Layton
