Duratec swap information needed.

Hey everyone -

 

I found your forum while doing some searching for a solution on my current project. Long story short, I'm between workspaces, and all my stuff is in storage, which means it's good planning time. I need to find out some solutions on where to do with the project. Hope to find some answers or at least some guidance here.

 

I have an uncommon project, a 1970 Datsun roadster that I've installed a 2005 focus duratec engine and 2005 miata transmission in. I'm really stuck right now (besides the car being in storage 2 hours away) on the engine management and wiring. It would be nice to find an inexpensive, drop in management system or some other way to run the engine besides the factory ECU, or a tuner that can flash the ECU to remove the PATS system. I'm trying to keep costs down on the project, since we're trying to buy a house, and I'll more than likely need to build a shop to work out of.

and I don't have any pics of the engine/trans mounted other than close-ups right now, but it fits the chassis pretty well, the shifter location is almost exactly the same as the datsun one was. Its not an ideal swap, the sonic turbo ecotec might have been the perfect config for the car - but the pricing wasn't ideal.
