This Ford Kent crossflow 1,600cc engine was built in 2007 by BHP in Allentown, Pennsylvania and features 10.5:1 compression pistons, a Cortina 295 camshaft, and dry-sump oil pump. It was destined for the selling dealer’s Caterham 7 autocrosser, which was traded for another car before the engine was finished. Affixed to a stand and stored in a climate-controlled showroom ever since, the engine has been reportedly hand-turned every couple of years. Over $12k in receipts detail the build, including parts from Burton Power in Ilford, England, British American Transfer in Sarasota, Florida, and Fred Heistand Automotive in Manheim, Pennsylvania. The seller states that this engine would be appropriate for many applications, including a Lotus, Caterham, Formula Ford, or Van Dieman racer. This Ford Kent crossflow engine is now offered on a bill of sale in Quarryville, Pennsylvania with a spare block and a Tilton race clutch.
