D_Mac Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 I have 1 Kirley seat recently removed from a Birkin 7. The best unreasonable offers will be accepted. The seat is located in torrance California. Kirkley seat.pdf
Silber Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 Are you looking for local pickup only, or would you be interested in shipping it?
D_Mac Posted March 18, 2024 Author Posted March 18, 2024 Pick up is easier for me, having said that I can ship as well. Where are you located?
D_Mac Posted March 19, 2024 Author Posted March 19, 2024 I am thinking that picking up in California is not going to work.
Silber Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Haha, indeed, which is why I asked about shipping. On 3/15/2024 at 11:05 AM, D_Mac said: The best unreasonable offers will be accepted. Depending on the cost to ship, my hopefully-not-too-unreasonable offer would be to cover shipping cost plus some extra on top for your time and effort. Full disclaimer I'm considering this very casually. I have one seat that has some minor cracking in the fiberglass, but it's on the passenger side now and not a high priority to fix/replace. But if I can get a bargain priced Kirkey that was already mounted in a Birkin....
D_Mac Posted March 19, 2024 Author Posted March 19, 2024 OK, I will find out what the shipping charge is and share it with you. Do you have the original Birkin seats? If so, they are not to bad. The Birkin requires some very skinny seats. Not for those with robust bottoms.
Silber Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Thank you. I appreciate it. I do have original Birkin seats. They look like the taller seat in the picture below:
D_Mac Posted March 20, 2024 Author Posted March 20, 2024 OK, Those are distinctly different from mine. I will send you a photo. I like the cockpit trim you have. Did you do that yourself. I am making a lot of saw dust while working on a version myself. Yours is much simpler than what I have been struggling with. You even have an arm rest. I am jealous. Silber Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 That was just a picture pulled from a google search. Pictures of my car (but of the interior) can be seen here: I'll send you a text message and we can continue there. Thanks! Gregory
Cueball1 Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 If not sold I'd like to throw my hat in the ring. Do you know what width and what model it is? Needing a track daye seat for the Birkin I bought late fall. I'm in Oregon. 97045 area code if needed to figure shipping.
D_Mac Posted March 23, 2024 Author Posted March 23, 2024 Cueball, the Kirkey seat is your s if you want it. No charge for the seat. What city are you in?
D_Mac Posted March 23, 2024 Author Posted March 23, 2024 The shipping to Utah was $136. Probably about the same to Oregon.
Cueball1 Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 Sorry the other person didn't work out but happy for me! Will pm my information. Let me know how much on shipping and how to get you the money. I enjoyed watching this car on BAT. Impressive vehicle. Interesting watching you take it from track beast to fast road car.
D_Mac Posted March 24, 2024 Author Posted March 24, 2024 It was a track beast on BAT, but unfortunately not so much upon delivery. There were several shortcomings that pointed the way back to the street. I have spent far more hours working on the shortcomings than driving the car. Having said that this project has been really fun. I picked up a 2009 Lotus Elise which is properly set up for a solid track day. The Seven is still much more fun to tinker with and drive for sure.
Cueball1 Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 (edited) Bummer the car didn't live up to the advertisement. Hope it becomes the car you're wanting it to be soon! I feel I got very lucky buying mine off craigslist. Needs some misc things done to get it to my expectations but not really due to any shortcomings. 🤞 Just making it fit my useage. Cueball1 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Got the seat. Took the vacuum to it and it cleaned up great. Thank you @D_Mac!
D_Mac Posted April 9, 2024 Author Posted April 9, 2024 Good news. I am glad that cat hair infested seat found a good home..
Cueball1 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Now to fashion brackets and find something to line the openings to keep racing shoulder belts from rubbing against bare metal.
