1997 Caterham Seven - Roadsport 150 For Sale! $30K

1997 Caterham Seven Roadsport 150 is a RHD S3 chassis imported from the UK in Jan 2024 and currently has 21,573 miles. I purchased the Caterham in 2023 while working in Cambridge from Sevens and Classics and it is a fantastic example. This Caterham was factory built featuring Monte Carlo Blue paint and many desirable options. It features the 1.6 K Series engine with the DVA K15 engine upgrade making 150bhp, 6-speed transmission, Titan LSD, 13” Apollo alloy wheels, anti-cavitation Apollo oil tank, roadsport leather adjustable seats, a lowered drivers-side floor, full weather gear, carbon rear arch guards, heated windscreen, cabin heater, FIA roll bar, sequential shift lights, 12v power socket. The car was registered in Florida and comes with a clean title and all applicable customs forms. This Seven has a full service history and was serviced annually at Sevens and Classics prior to export.

 

The Roadsport spec was designed as a perfect fast tourer with its comfortable leather seats and factory Bilstein road-suspension that soak up the miles surprisingly well. The 13” Apollo wheels allow enough sidewall on the Avon CR500 tires to improve the ride quality. Stopping power is provided with 4 disk brakes and stainless lines. A Titan Limited Slip Differential was fitted in 2008. The previous owner used the car for hill climbs in England which is why some of the driver-focused modifications were added.

 

The S3 chassis was developed from the original Lotus Seven so space is at a premium making the optional lowered drives-side flooring highly desired. I am 6’1” and have a comfortable seating position with the seat full aft. The right-hand drive cockpit features twin bucket seats trimmed in black leather with embossed seatbacks and four-point racing harnesses. Black carpeting is fitted on the sides of the center console, and color-matched Caterham Seven-branded mats are under foot.

 

The K15 engine upgrades were done in 2010 by Dave at DVA Power, a highly regarded specialist in the Caterham world. It features a ported cylinder head with standard sized inlet and exhaust valves, the head is fitted with Supersport cams and new pistons. This gives large gains in torque and much better drivability. The only maintenance I had to perform is the annual service and a new mechanical oil gauge since ownership.

 

I am in no rush to sell the car as I still enjoy it on the weekends but would like to move on as I have had a seven-style car for the past 4 years now, love to have one of you guys enjoy it!
