lowflyer
Interesting point at the bottom of the last posting.... "these are English cars and no one in the US knows about the parts" (I'm paraphrasing here). That was one of the major reasons for my decision to build a Stalker. It's all American "stuff", and if you go with the normally aspirated V6 there's no computer to deal with. There is only minimum fabrication needed, it pretty much bolts together. Price of the kit plus parts is also quite reasonable. The build manual is also supplemented by a very active builder's forum, which is open only to kit owner's. Also, they're designed to fit the "real American" body, if that's a consideration.
ayseven
The main reason I went with D%#^&* was because it was semi-local, and I didn't have to worry about importing from the the US. However, in the end, pretty much all my parts eventually came from the US anyways from our friend Fleabay, so a Stalker wouldn't have been a problem, as long as it would never be called a "car" until it's built - see above regarding importing to the Great White North. rv-4mike
OK, well in contrast with ayseven's Deman experience the Ultralite hasnt been that bad. I guess you need a frame of reference. Just to clarify - I still think the Ultralite is a great car and when it is finally done I'm betting I'll love it. It just doesnt meet the easy to build criteria that towbone said he was looking for in my experience.
