glenntwincam Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 does anyone have a list or diagram of the fuse panel as used in a 06 caterham w/ svt engine ? after driving awhile the car just stops running. first thing I check are fuses and it is always the same one failed. replace it and car runs great for a indefinite time(could be 100 miles or 12) it always dies at idle. if I knew what this fuse does it would help narrow the search. all diagrams I have looked do not match what is in this car, including assy.book that came with it.the panel has 5 modules/relays w/ 3 fuses each. thanks
West7se Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Hi, not sure what you seen already, does the Cat site have them http://www.caterham.co.uk/assets/html/technical/download.html If not can you take a pic of the fuse box and point out which one blows, I will see if I can do some research for you. Rich
glenntwincam Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 thanks, it appears by quantity & amperage to match the duratech fuse panel. which makes sense both being ford products. the fuse that blows is 15 and picture shows a 30 (it's marked battery supply) could it be that simple ?
West7se Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Yes from what you have said, then swapping to a 30 amp fuse will cure it. If I was doing this I would connect up an ammeter in series with the cables a check the current drawn from that circuit., then fit the appropriate fuse. But as the diag says Battery supply, I would expect this to be somewhere in the region of 25 amp draw. Rich
pi7ot Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 If it is the main power supply relay,Check the routing of the wiring at the starter . Make sure the wires are not shorting out on the starter case. m
