The pressure gauge on my RS170 looks like a gauge version of an idiot/warning light, either 0 or x psi, nothing in between. Is it likely that the sender on the crate engine is for an idiot light and the gauge could actually be fed with a proper rising signal for pressure?

 

Anyone taken a look at this on the Duratec's?? Do the Zetec cars have the same crappy oil pressure gauge indications too?

Thanks Brad, that seems to be the way to go for sure. I did that on my old Mustang many years back (The Boss 351).
