I've been looking for light 13" with out spending alot of money to experiment. I was going to get Avon ACB10's as their light and made for 7's. I found John Berget racing tires, he has alot of new to used tires. I e-mailed him and 2 hours later he called. I told him the type of car I had and what I wanted, he could have sold me them but suggested for street use, Yokohama A048. They are more puncture resistant and stickier and used by Spec Racer Ford cars. I got 4 tires 185/60/13 5-6/32" tread. They had one heat cycle on them. I have to get wheels yet but I am looking foward to see how they perform. A048's get good reviews in Europe and its the same tire for new Lotus Elise and Exige. The prices vary but my almost new tires cost me $45 each and paid COD by check. I called thursday and had them the following tuesday. I very happy with them. I just Googled him and he's involved with Formula Pro cars. Sorry this is long but thought fellow 7 owners would be interested in another tire supplier.

I have been under the impression that the 13" AO 48s were not imported to the USA. Good find!! Do you know if that is the only 13" size available?

Sorry, I forgot to tell about sizes. 7 different manufactures and sizes from 10"-18" diameters.

A048 are really good tires, I had them on my Elise. Be aware of two things though, they are not very good in the wet, and they are terrible in the cold, I mean terrible. If you track them take the first lap easy get them hot and then have a blast.

I have A048 on my Caterham and I think they are quite good in the wet, especially when I compare them to A032 which I had before. The amount of standing water they can take before the car starts aquaplaning is not bad at all.

About driving them in cold weather you're absolutely right. I drove the Cat in January - we had no snow this winter hence no salted streets - and on wet roads with temperatures slightly above freezing point you have to be VERY careful. Bit too much throttle and you fishtail down the road (I did - and was lucky to not hit anything).
