I really love my Busa powered Deman SR7 but I will admit that the (flat out) LOUD muffler is ear splitting and not exactly neighbor friendly.

Has anybody got any good ideas for a friendlier (non track) can?

Busa, I had the same problem. Mine is straight thru, I added 2 feet and a chrome down turn tip. The car sounds completely different. I can talk and hear people in the cockpit and all around the car now. I did not lose any ground clearance either, other more important parts will get hit first.

The chrome tip was cut off the muffler then welded a 2 foot pipe on and rewelded the tip on.

New guards are made up, maybe welded up Monday. I personally thought it would look stupid out the back but it looks nice and the sound reduction is worth it all. Unless you like driving all around town with a helmet on in your car this is the next best thing. Its illegal to drive with earplugs but I had to before I did this.

I picked up a used titanium can from a Kawasaki ZRX1200 that I will install before spring. It is a similar displacement and rev limit to the Busa so should work well. Too bad the stock Busas have dual exhausts. The exhaust on my SR7 is way too loud even with earplugs. I am undecided as to where it should exit,on the side or at the rear.
