twobone Posted April 25, 2011 Share Posted April 25, 2011 Hi guys, My weber carb'd Crossflow does not appear to have a fuel filter. A couple of questions around filtment The fuel pump is attached to the block. I want to place the filter somewhere in the engine bay. Do I place the filter between the tank and the pump or between the pump and the carbs? The fuel line to the pump on the block appears to be a hard black plastic tube (1/4 inch thick) that connects to a very short 1/2 inch rubber pipe into the fuel pump. I'm thinking the best route may be to make a longer section of the rubber fuel pipe leading into the fuel pump and place the filter within that section. I have heard that Webers have specific fuel pressure needs. This makes me think that a fuel filter/regulator combo may be a good idea. However, I suspect that would have to be placed between the pump and the carbs and there is no space to do that. Thoughts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Klasik-69 Posted April 25, 2011 Share Posted April 25, 2011 My car is a 2004 R300 and its filter is located in the back of the car just forward of the fuel tank. I'm a newbie at this so if that seems like a stupid idea, consider the source. But perhaps you can locate the filter in that area which is not likely to be blasted with heat as it would be next to the engine, and may eliminate vapor lock or other issues. Just a suggestion !!
