Birkin replacement starter

Does anyone know of a direct replacement starter/solenoid for a Zetec/Sierra trans Birkin (mounted under the exhaust)?

 

I'm on the Blackhills Tour, and my solenoid is dead. I'm abut in the middle of nowhere, have limited internet access, and can't find anything in archives.

Since no one is chiming in, here are some of my guesses:

 

Any chance the starter is from a Contour/ZX2/Focus? Either that or a xflow from 1978-1980 Fiesta, early Pinto, early '70s Capri. A starter from a 1.6/1.9 liter CVH Escort might work too.

It **isn't* Focus/Contour. It seems to be some obscure Ford only made in/for South Africa. Neither the Bosch or Ford part numbers on the starter cross to anything.

 

Fortunately, it turned out to be a bad crimp on the solenoid signal wire. That fixed, I was on my way again.
