twobone Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 I had recently rejetted by DCOE 40 webers. I had ignored that old adage that says change one thing at a time. I swapped out both idle (45 F9) and main jets (125). I had finally resolved the poor idle to main jet transition, but I kept thinking I had lost some umph. I went back to the original main jets (130- but they look like they have been drilled out) and now she is back to the old hooligan she was on throttle, but with the new and improved slow speed running. I think she is a bit to rich but the power is back. Swapping main and idle jets is easy and kinda fun, so if you want to see if there is more power to be had, give it a try.
pi7ot Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I bought a used kit. Weber Alpha ignition, Matching DCOE 45s with massive 40mm venturis, 150 main jets, 50/F8 Idle jets, 155 air correction jets. Runs fat once warm so I'm going to reconfigure the carbs to something more streetable. One thing that seems to be critical is to keep the carbs in ambient air rather than the hot air they are ingesting currently. m
