AndyB
The foam inside my Lynx Ram Flo air cleaners (Australian) is starting to show it's age. It appears to be just a regular open cell foam which is oiled. (I've been using the K&N cleaner and oil.) Is that correct, it's just open cell foam? ihckb2
Its possible the K&N cleaner and oil may not agree with the foam filter you have. K&Ns are built of a cotton like material. If your looking for a replacement other than ordering an original, try going to a motorcycle shop that sells off road bikes(motorcross) and see if you can find something that comes close that you may be able to modify to fit. These filters are usually built in two layers, are fully washable and oil is required. These filters are very breathable and hard wearing. In a motorcross season I would probably wash and oil 50 to 60 times. Can be washed in gas, solvent etc. and oiled with the proper oil. If you over oil you can squeeze it out. Try not to over oil at first, the oil spreads very well.
