  1. Thanks, but what I am seeking is what Coil overs (or suspension) are used in this conversion, this is not the first time this is done so there must be someone out there who knows what Coil overs are best to use.
  2. I hope someone here can help me out on my Triumph Spitfire Mk3 1968 powered by Hayabusa engine. Weight is 690 kg and distribution is 51% in front and 49% for the rear. Upgrade of the rear suspension: I have decided it was time to upgrade the rear suspension with a full CV jointed axle setup along with another diff with LSD and better ratio (3,55:1). The Leafspring, diff and the swing axles will be removed and my goal is to go the full independent rear suspension route. These modifications will be custom made. But, I have not found the right suspension yet, i.e. I am looking for Coil Overs or a good solution for the rear suspension. Any good advice's greatly appreciated.
  3. I am replacing the original Airbox with a Pipercross foam filter. As I have very little space under the hood, I am trying to find a good suitable filter. I found one domed one from Pipercross (Pxc502d this is 65mm in height and only 40mm inside), but the internal space between the velocity stacks and the foam, is only 15 mm, it that okay? According to Pipercross, they recommend min 20 mm. I have all 4 stacks low, I replaced the 2 in the middle (that are higher) with 2 low ones) Other vice I would have to go for a higher filter. I am trying to avoid to cut a hole in the hood, and I can see the 65 mm filter will touch the hood inside on one side of the filter foam. I will probably have to cut a hole in the hood for best air to the engine or what do you think? thanks
  4. I started on searching, but I did not find the kit, that is why I seek your help here. If it is so easy, kindly help my finding this kit.
  5. Thanks, I will look at this, but I cant find "Canton" can you send me the URL?
  6. I am installing Hayabusa engine (gen 1) in a small car and I do not have space for the oil filter in its original place. Is there a "system" for extension for the oil filter? I.e. can I install a pipe/tube where the oil filter is located on the engine and move the oil filter away from the engine? If yes, please advice where to buy. Thanks
  7. Thanks, but then I would need a return pipe/line and a fuel regulator, right? I dont have return line or a fuel regulator. The fuel system I have now in just one fuel line from the fuel tank to the fuel rail.
  8. I am working on a small car project with Hayabusa engine. As I cant use the original fuel pump, what fuel pumps can I use? Hayabusa needs 42 psi, but I need to know from what cars I can use fuel pumps. Thanks
  9. Ok thanks, many talks about stronger springs (where can I find/buy them?) and kevler plates in the clutch, but not all do agree, some say the original clutch is best, but I dont know....yet. Regarding the main shaft in the gear box, what changes are popular and effective? And what about the oil system? How can I improve it? markus
  10. Hi Tom and thanks for the advices, are the Swing Axels to weak? I could make them stronger, if they are so week, but again the old engine had alot of torque, I doubt the Hayabusa engine has more. What about the diff itself? I have heard some say it is strong, some say it is weak probably the ones who has a V8 Rover. My car was renovated some years ago and is free of all rust :driving: The frame is very solid and easy to weld some strengthing iron frames in it. I love the handling, especially after having replacing all the monts with poly and new shocks. I am little afraid if the diff will hold, any ideas? Thanks, markus
  11. Thanks Russ! I will find out very soon if this setup is to heavy for the std engine. If so and if I like the car and handling, I will have to look at more power, and as I understand it, this engine is fairly easy to tune. markus
  12. Hi I am new here and I hope it is okay for me to post even I am not a Westfield owner... I am installing a Busa engine in a Triumph Spitfire Mk3 from 1968 and was thinking it would be a good idea to have a stronger clutch. The weight of the car will be with the Busa engine appr. 1200-1300 lbs. I wanted to share this with the Forum and hopefully I will get some feedback and maybe some good advices on the way? I am located in Iceland.
  13. Hi I am new here. Some say kevlar clutch is not good for the Hayabusa engine, I was planning to buy one in my 2006 engine, but now a I am not sure. Many say the original one is the best?
