well it lloks as though im just going to purchase a new frame and the bits i need to replace. to have the frame repaired is cost prohibitve. will post pics of the whole process once i get underway. lookin forward to it. and as always im always welcoming thoughts and constructive critisism and suggestions. thanks in advance

for what its worth a daily drove my fathers birkin for two years,it will be my dd again whwn fixed likely, and it wasnt bad but you have to be pretty hasrd core to do that which it seems you are. be careful in the wet/snow as the light weight is an issue. you should be fine tho if your careful. jus my 2cents

tom, i appricate your thought the car is bieng kept in california. i found a possible lead on a entrie frame. but as far as it getting sent any were once i get it down here i will let you take a look. still in the planning stages. -

thanks for all of the info i was condiering sending it to texas motor works as i have no frame expierence. anyone know of a place capable of doing such work near phoenix. also automoda i can provide plenty of pics i have like 94 or something. i have considerd a new frame too. im going to start a build thread in the tech section. -

thanks to all of the great help here and from texas motor works i have a few questions regarding its registration. i have recently left the land of the commies in california were it is currently sb101 registerd but am living in az were we have emmisions from 1967 up. will the 1960 model year transfer or will i have to register it as the 2001 it was built. when my father got the car he never intended to move. thanks

ill need a little bit or time to get back to you but that seems to be a different flange than mine i think mine was a 3 bolt. will be sending a friend down to look at it. i think my father may have changed it form stock. thanks will let u know soon.

pls correct me if i am wrong but isnt sb100 exemp you from emissions. if i recall ritght we never had to smog our s3 and we lived in sacramento. my title says 1960. never figured it all out as we got our car plated already. mine is on non op sure hope i dont have to smog it lol if someone coould clarify that would be great. thanks
