  1. Thanks guys! I’m always amazed at the collective knowledge this group has! It looks like I have the correct front shock absorbers. Next question: what is a good source for springs?
  2. Good morning guys. What is the perch-to-perch dimension for a series 2 front shock when the shock is fully extended?
  3. I went with the Burton "20mm breather elbow" that is press-fit into the block. I also ordered an oil fill cap with a breather outlet and a catch tank. Thankyou MV8 for the interesting information on the ford designed vent! And thankyou 7westfield for your caution regarding plugging the vent hole.
  4. Never mind guys, I found everything that I need at Burton
  5. I would like to vent my 1340 Cosworth crankcase into to catch tank. How do I connect to the block?
  6. Thank you MV8!
  7. What mechanical fuel pump is recommended for a 1340 Cosworth Ford engine with webers?
  8. Yes, the headlight brackets align under the openings
  9. Incidently, about a week after I ordered the nose cone from MSC, I received a message from Chris at Redline that he had a S-2 nosecone that he could send to me! So if anyone is in the market for a nose cone, check with Chris and perhaps his product would need no modifications.
  10. Motorsports Composites nosecone: Thankyou Scott! I ordered a nose cone it from MSC. It fits quite well and the quality is good. I will need to make the following modifications: 1) cutout for the anti-sway bar 2) extend the skirt to fit the lower Dzus fasteners
  11. Thanks Scott! I will contact Motorsports composites. And thanks to all of you that contributed to this thread!
  12. Bad news: Just learned from Chris at Red Line that he is unable to furnish the nose S-2 nose cone that I ordered last April... so I am still looking for a nose cone. He said that the the Lotus S2 and S3 nose cones are the same except for the location of the Lotus emblem. The Caterham S3 nose cone is completely different. Lotusfan do you still have that nose cone....if not, any other leads?
  13. Cycle fenders were an option and this clamp was used for the lower cycle fender support
  14. Its a standard Triumph axel with Stegosaurus plate reinforcement. Nathen Down noted that welding on the plate often causes toe-out. Fortunately we discovered this problem with my axel before getting it cleaned up and powder coated. He is reworking it to get it back to neutral or slight toe-in. Incidentally, Nathen got 4th place in the Formula Ford 2024 SCCA National Championship Runoffs. (then 3rd and on the podium after one of the first 3 was disqualified) The race is now on YouTube if you want to check it out.
  15. Hi Guys, apologies for asking for help and then failing to follow up with your kind responses! My feeble excuse is that Chris at Redline said that he could furnish the series 2 nose cone that I need. That may have been a mistake as after 8 months he has not come through. In fairness, he has had trouble with his supplier and I am in no rush.....just taking my time and savoring this restoration. 16. I have a restored Series 2 Chassis (thankyou Nathen Down) and have now discovered that the nose cone that came with the project is incorrect. Any ideas where I could source the correct nose cone? I understand (per Josh Robbins) that the correct nose cone depends on the bonnet length as the rear nosecone shelf has 2 different lengths available. My bonnet length is 37.5 inches.
  17. My S2 project came with SW rather than AC Temp and Oil Pressure gauges. Could these be original?
  18. My S2 has a Ford 109 ford Cosworth engine and we modified some S3 mounting brackets to work. Thanks for your response!
  19. Are S2 and S3 engine mounting brackets interchangeable?
  20. Obviously, I am a novice when it comes to navigation this web site. The below statement is from me and not SENC. I now have a thread gage and the threads do measure 26 TPI. The fitting matches the British Standard Brass (BSB) 1/2-26 size. Fitting of this size are apparently no longer available. Taps and dies are still available but under the circumstances I think that I will just use 7/16" ID gas hose with a hose clamp. Incidentally www.britishfasteners.com is an excellent source of info. Thanks for all the help!
  21. Thank you, guys! We are getting closer to an answer! I don't have a tread pitch gage but here is a 1/4"-28 for comparison. the fitting could very well be a 1/2 x 26.
