  1. Thanks John. Notifications were set to "on" so I guess it's a spam thing. Anyhoo, I have received PMs so please go with that if you want to get hold of me. Thanks to all!
  2. Hey guys sorry for the radio silence. I did not realize that I do not get alerts when someone posts on this thread. The zetec engine continues to sit in the back of the garage, ageing gracefully. If you are interested please PM me rather than reply to this thread. I will post immediately if it sells so unless you see otherwise it's still for sale.
  3. I bought this engine 11 years ago with dreams of a track build... but the original donk in my Caterham just kept going and going, so I never got around to it... and then I sold the car. The engine is completely stock. Ithas been under covers in the back of the shed and has never been installed in a car. Who knows what these things are worth. Closest thing I have found is a remanufactured engine for $2875 plus core charge. So I reckon $2000 buyer to pickup in the San Francisco area or arrange shipping seems like a sweet deal for a special friend. Who wants it? As a bonus deal sweetener I will throw in the custom made rolling engine dolly that I made myself. This was my first and last welding project (not proud) and all I can say is that it rolls and hasn't collapsed (yet). This pretty little engine belongs in a Seven. Don't make me offer it to the grubby chaps over on the Focus forums :-)
  4. Hey guys, I recently sold my Series 3 Caterham 7. I have a pair of rolling chassis stands that I had made specifically to fit the car. THey should also fit an SV but we would need to confirm rear chassis dimensions. You jack up each end of the car with a standard floor jack and then drop the car on the stands... takes a couple of minutes. This raises the car to a perfect height for working on and underneath. Stand height is adjustable in two increments. One person can easily move the car around the garage. Perfect for winter projects. Unfortunately I did not take any pics with the car on it, but if you look at these photos and imagine a seven sitting pretty on top you get the idea. The narrow stand locates just ahead of the engine and behind the jacking point on the chassis cruciform. The rear stand locates just ahead of the forward A-arm mounting points. When not in use the stands fold down to a nice flat profile with quick release pins. Pics show surface blemishes only, the stands are in perfect working order. Shipping would be a PITA so I'd prefer to sell to a local buyer in the Northern California/SF Bay area. Yours for only $250. Don't hesitate, you need these...
  5. Jim, I sent you a PM on this. I'm interested. Michael Murphy.
