  1. Wow, that brings back some memories. My father had a Triumph dealership in Kansas City and sponsored a TR4, used to race there. Found this online, his driver was the winner of the D Production race. Not as well known as a couple other guys named Yenko and Miles who raced that day.
  2. The check engine light on my 310S comes on when I start the car, then dims as I start driving. The OBD reader gives me “Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected” (and “Fuel Volume Regulator A Control Circuit Low” and “Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor A Circuit High”). I checked the exhaust runners temperature with an infrared thermometer, and the first one (closest to the bulkhead) is about 20 degrees cooler than the others. What should I do next? Thanks for your advice.
  3. This show car could be the Chris Rea album cover car. The album was released in 1991. A Caterham also appears in the video for the title song (on YouTube).
  4. A small stone hit, and I have this 1/2” damage on my windshield. There is a shallow 1/8” rough area on the front surface. Should I buy a repair kit and do it myself, or have it done professionally? I don’t care about the defroster since I won’t be driving in those conditions. Thanks for your advice.
  5. Thanks for the helpful advice. The one thing I don’t want to do is remove the rivets and replace the whole fastener. Wonder what happened to the bolts?
  6. I’m checking my car (310S) prior to starting it after winter, first time removing the nosecone, and both lower Dzus bolts are missing. Can I replace just the bolts? The Caterham UK parts site shows a different fastener for the upper and lower, what is the measurement so I can order them locally? Thanks.
  7. Thanks! My car’s assembly manual shows the hose going down between the runners, but not how the other end connects. And all the photos I found of US 270/310 builds also show the hose in that position. Can I route it that way and leave out the PCV valve?
  8. I’m getting ready to start my 310S (driven here from California and parked in December) and noticed this odd hose configuration; a PCV valve was required for SB100 certification. This was done with two different hoses (second photo), what is the correct hose for the cam cover breather? Do I need the PCV valve? Thanks.
  9. Hello from Portland. I bought the yellow 310S that was on BAT last November. Rich was extremely helpful in arranging the sale and getting the car ready, and I had a mostly uneventful drive home in early December. It’s been a typical wet Portland winter, and the car has been in hibernation. I need to have protective film installed and get a small windshield rock hit fixed and it should be good to go. One question, it’s been three months since I drove it, is there anything special I should do when starting it? I’ve seen suggestions to disconnect the plugs or fuel pump, and run the starter to build oil pressure. It’s been covered in a dry garage.
  10. I’m considering a Caterham and I live in Portland, the car I’m looking at (a Sigma-engined car a few years old) is currently registered in another state. Will I have any problem registering it here? Thanks!
