  1. The Nautilus is a Lincoln Nautilus, her baby. back in 2007, I sold the last of my Jags, a 1959 XK 150-S. I bought her in the Boston area where were were were living for $2K and spent 12 years rebuilding her. She sold for $25K. I had intended to buy another E Type, but even rust-buckets were > $40K. My wife asked,"if money was no object..." and I told her that I had always loved 308's even before Magnum PI. I found one on Long Island that needed work. Enclosed is a pic Oh, the engine number on the new Cat indicates that it is a 31K95 AX.
  2. I bought https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-caterham-caterham-seven-super-sprint/. She arrived last week. I had her out for a spin but it was only 41 and after 20 years in TN my blood has thinned and I cut the ride short after only 20 min. I should have worn my cycle gear. She runs great, everything I had hoped for. My first 7. I grew up with MGAs, MGBs, TRs, Morgens and Jags. Now I have a Ferrari 308, a Ducati ST3 and a 2016 Miata daily driver as well as the 7. With my wife's Nautilus, my garage overfloweth.
  3. I noticed that it has a "rebuilt Georgia title". Has anyone had experience registering a car with that kind of title in another state, in my case Tennessee?
  4. This is a real beauty! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-caterham-caterham-seven-super-sprint/?prompttm=1 I just put in a bid
  5. Love this one. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/caterham/super-7/2349158.html except for the fatal flaw RHD.
  6. Thanks! That one is down from $29.5 on their website to $25.9 on Hemmings. It is starting to get attractive. I think that I can get past the yellow paint but i don't care for the red interior. Yes, I know, both can be changed. Regards, George
  7. [h=5] [/h]I was looking at the BritAuto 200 Caterham. The VIN is SDKLLKANSY0021854. Which I read as Caterham, LHD, Long, Kit, Alternatif, but what is the NS? Does someone have a full VIN decoder (free)?
  8. I understand. That was why I posted earlier about hiring a company to go out and perform an inspection of the car. The advertise that this will cost between $200 and $400 and it seemed like a good idea. I would probably be willing to look at a car in my area for a fellow poster, or lend advice on nuclear physics or particle accelerators. 2016 Miata 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi 2005 Ducati ST3 Lusting after a 7
  9. Has anyone had issues buying a 7 from Craigslist, especially from some distance away?
  10. Tom, Oh, " Let me know how you make out". One of my favorite phrases from the "Factory Support Team". Only surpassed by the response to "I need to speak with the engineer who designed that" with "I'm sorry, he died last year". 11. And this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-Lotus-Super-Seven-Leather-Buckets/123925831986?hash=item1cda8e2132:g:fLMAAOSw5XldlCBo Note, 11K miles and no title. How does this happen? 11K miles seems like a lot for a track car.
  12. It looks like the front mounting bolt is too low. Re-drilling the mount properly would leave a visible hole.
  13. Yes, a very nice looking 7. I just can't get past the RHD. I owned a RHD MGA once and finally sold it. It wasn't worth the hassle. George
  14. This just in, on BAT A RHD 7. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1965-lotus-seven-3/
  15. Just down the road and in UT Orange!
  16. I may bid on one of these. At this time there is no way for me to travel to see the car myself. Can anyone recommend an inspection service to go and look at it for me. Regards, George
  17. Looks awesome, a little on the scary side.
  18. I'm sorry to have missed out on that one. It looked pretty nice and sold for less than I expected.
