  1. Looks like MV8 is right on, looks to be an HS engineering Sabre Seven. HS produced kits and completed cars from the mid 70’s to 1991 when they shut down. Leo’s 7 Sabre photos in an album on this site show his Sabre 7 as he raced it a while back, this album is where I got the details to ID my project. This is not Leo’s car, it’s an unfinished project with current Louisiana registration and title in my name. lf anyone would like specific photos of the project let me know so I can take them this weekend. I am going to the ranch today and the project is in a hangar there. I have finished the restoration of the original 7 and have no desire to start another project. If anyone is interested, we can talk or email directly. Thanks, Bill
  2. Croc suggested I post this here for wider distribution. I was involved in a 2 car buy to get an original Lotus 7. The other car was a incomplete project replica 7. The only info I have is that it’s about 4” wider than my 7 and it has a 4 cylinder overhead cam ford engine and 4 speed transmission in it. I’m going to try to attach photos of the project so someone might help me identify it. it was from an estate sale with no one around with any information. I need more information to answer questions from anyone interested in the project. Thanks, Bill
  3. I’ve got photos if interested
  4. I’ve got an unfinished 7 that I have yet to identify. It’s about 4” wider than my original lotus 7 and has a 4 cylinder overhead cam ford engine. I need help identifying it, I got it in a 2 car buy with no information. Don’t know what it’s worth. Bill
  5. Thanks one and all. Moss motors it is! Bill
  6. Hi Ron, thanks for the information. I had already called several of the sources you mentioned. I finally called Mike LEMPERT, the maker of my steering wheel. He told me that the 7 series 2 has the same diameter and splines as a AH Sprite series one and two. I ordered a hub for the Sprite and it fits perfectly on the 7’s steering shaft. That problem is solved. My next problem is the big nut that holds the wheel on. I’ve tried a 14mm coarse thread, fine thread, and very fine thread. The threaded area is 14mm in diameter on my gauge, but is there another thread type I should try? Thanks, Bill
  7. What other car has a 5/8” , 36 splined shaft like my original lotus 7. I’m trying to buy a hub to mount a steering wheel but no one lists a hub for a 7. What other car uses a 5/8” shaft with 36 splines so I can use the cross reference to buy a hub. Thanks for any help, Bill
