  2. Ok folk! Russ and I did the road trip thingy and ..We Are Pumped! to put it mildy! Two days of driving and we just scratched the surface of what's available! Russ is happy with "The Hub" and if you know Russ thats saying a lot!!(just kidding Russ..) One of the ideas that we discussed while we were down there is that the complex has a HUGE PARKING LOT that is hardly used. The owners of The Hub gave us the go ahead to set up an auto x if we can maybe get some help (hint hint). To that end we wondered what the group thought about extending the Gathering one more day to make it a 4 day event. We could start the event on June 9th (Thursday) or extend it to June 13th (Monday) . Our reasoning is that there are just too many Great roads to make runs on and we don't want to short change the oppertunity to have some great blats at the expense of putting on an Auto X . Please chime in with your thoughts and desires! Julian P.S. I will post tis elsewhere to cover out bases
  3. Location: "The Hub" just outside Harrison Arkansas When: 10-12 June 2011
  4. Thanks Martin! The louvers are the originals out of a 81 280zx turbo hood ( someone had installed them in the hood on the 280z donor car i used) I work as a mechanic professionally but body work is a "dark art" to me so I had a local painter shoot it at his shop. since the pictures were taken I have upgraded the rollbar to 1 3/4" tubing, crossbraced and with a support for the 5 point harness on the drivers side. swapped out the 4 speed for a 5 speed and I also swapped out the wheels for minilite clones and unshrouded the exhaust and put a chrome heat shield on the muffler. I am currently thinking of swapping out the jaguar gauges for better (and more accurate) aftermarket units. I'm also getting ready to adapt a larger throttle body to the intake to increase the air flow into the engine. The car is heavier that a stock locost build (approx 1700lbs.) but still lighter that a stock z so performance it better. Stock hp is stated at 135 (optimistic) but the torque is where this car makes the difference, a 3000 rpm roll on is just a pure adren. rush.
  5. Not everyone is a "small" person. After lusting for a seven for most of my automotive life, but never fitting into one, along come a little book by a "Mr. Champion". While my build is not exactly 100% original looking, I can at least get my "mass" into the seat and drive! It's based on a 76 Datsun 280Z (yes complete with the big long lump six) . At least it is in the right spirit!http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1343280965_car build 001.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1072965558_car build 002.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/642328262_car build 003.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/294566506_car build 004.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/94606515_car build 005.jpg
