  1. If the chassis plate does indeed say "SB2663" it is not from an S3 Lotus Seven or an S4 Lotus Seven at all. The S3 numbers range from SB2311 to SB2649. There were 13 TwinCam SS S3 cars which had a chassis number prefix "SC" (starting number SC2564) and the left hand drive cars' prefix was "LSB." The S4 Lotus Sevens had chassis numbers from S4/2650 to S4/3238 from 1970-1973 (Lotus built) and S4/3500-3538 (Caterham built). There should be no chassis plate that reads SB2663. 2663 would be an S4 which would not have SB as a prefix but instead would have S4/ as the prefix.
  2. Thanks for the link. I have been in contact with the owner in the past. As of a few months ago, he had sold all but the Xanthos and the race prepped Elite.
  3. Thanks for keeping your eyes open, Dean. Good luck getting your car into good running condition. If you get tired of it at any point, you know where to get rid of it .
  4. Dean, I remember seeing the pictures of your series 1 that you posted on EliseTalk when you got it running. I drooled on my keyboard. I call 1st dibs if/when you sell it. Please let me know if you hear of anyone, particularly in VA, who is selling. I keep losing cars to "local buyers" when I try to buy them from a distance.
  5. Didn't I tell you once I was already working on the wife about that? I was serious. I may have dreamed I told you that and really never did. Either way, I really am working on her. But your Elan wouldn't be for the museum and that so far has been part of the problem. It would have to be my personal toy and she thinks I have too many of those ("for now" ) already.
  6. Once it is closer to completion I will let everyone know so you can come visit .
  7. Virginia. Still in the process of gathering the cars. Not many local Lotus around here so I'm stuck searching the 'net for them. I keep running into situations where guys on the other side of the land mass sell their cars to "locals" while I'm arranging shipping. And chaps on the other side of the pond won't even communicate with me :banghead: .
  8. Nope. Starting a Lotus Museum.
  9. Here is the original ad: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/727473003.html The owner would never send me any further pictures or info (chassis number, etc). I just got an email from him saying he sold the car to a friend of a friend. So. I'm still in the market for an original series 1 or 2 Lotus Seven. If anyone comes across one, please let me know. Thanks, RoadDad
  10. Now why didn't I think of that? :banghead: Thanks Al. I'll try to keep this post updated as I get info on the car. So far it has been pretty sparse.
  11. Hello all. Sorry to have my first post be a strange hassling question. I have run across a Seven that may be for sale and I was hoping that someone may recognize this 1966 Lotus Seven. I hope to have more information about the car soon and will post it as I obtain it. Thanks, RoadDad http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/591509817_66 Seven.jpg
