  1. I know.... I just bought this car last month, it has been a dream car for me for a long time, it was a good deal from the previous owner, he bent over backwards to help me get the deal done..... But sometimes, things that you are absolutely positive are the best, most wonderful thing you can have does not always work out. My wife can't ride in it with me because the passenger seat is only 16" wide and she is wider than that..... The ride is race track inspired and it handles like a roller skate, but she hates that and the car has turned out to not be legal anymore to run SCCA hillclimbs without me adding a full rollcage, and I cannot bring myself to chop on a low mileage car just to run a couple of races. I added a few touches of my own and repaired some small items that did not work properly, the turn signals are correctly working, the horn button was removed from the steering wheel and located under the dash, the round steering wheel has been replaced with a "D" shaped race wheel, the headlights are now HI intensity LEDs with. Properly functioning hi/ lo beam setup. The corro-plastic "mats" have been replaced with seadeck rubber sound deading and heat insulating materials that look like wood. I tidied up under the hood and re designed the vinyl coverings over the drivers footwell and the electronics, I'll add a video with all of this additions later on today. I purchased a Goblin to race with, it's a cheaper car but it meets the requirements for the type of racing I want to do, and I still have my mini cooper for driving on short road trips, so I think selling the WCM is best. Asking price is $36000.00 including a clear Florida title in my name, all manuals, scca log books, a complete history on the car as it was built by the original owner and a set of race wheels and tires that came with the car. PM me with any request for additional photos or to make an offer.
  2. I really am glad we made a deal, and the car is as described. But; I may have to consider selling it. Came back from a 200+mile road trip in it and to be totally honest, it is not a road trip car at my age, auto cross and track day car... for sure, but a car to drive long distance, not so much. It handles fantastically, drive train is fantastic, it accelerates like a monster, the exhaust note is so rich, but the ride is a bit harsh and the car is a tight fit for a guy in his 70's at 6'-2" and 230lbs, not undriveable, you just need to be determined.
  3. That is beautiful!!! I can only hope mine will be that nice one day!!!
  4. I still need to figure out the best way to reproduce the drivers side footwell cover, the engine heat is going to be brutal come this summer!
  5. I have a 2006 WCM ultra lite and I am trying to find a pedal box cover for the drivers side...anybody know where I might find a stash of parts.
  6. That was my situation as well... I really really wanted a WCM and was lucky to get this one.. it has some issues, but nothing that is unexpected so far, and I'm fixing everything as it comes up.
  7. Mine was an impulse buy because I did not think I was going to get a WCM, then right after I bought the Goblin, Peter called me and made me an offer I could not refuse, so two track cars... My wife was so excited.. NOT!
  8. The goblin is a great driving car, but is very sensitive to camber & caster, and it's a bit involved to set.... So I have not been able to push it to its limits yet, hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to tell you more. Right now, it's in the shop getting a proper tune on the system, then will come back to my shop for the proper alignment.
  9. I've always had something like that on my special cars, my Grandmother was a special Lady.
  10. Had to add a few more personal touches, my race cars are always named after my Grandmother Mavis Long, so I had to do a decal for her and even though I know the WCM is a replica of a 1968 Lotus, I prefer my 66 numbers, so it's my car, my story now.
  11. I know... it's really kind of stupid, but I actually used it the first drive I took, it works in a way, it gets in the way too!
  12. it just looks way better than the corroplastic mats the previous owner used. And it is a better heat insulator, plus I found that the parking brake was in the engaged position for the last few years, I was shocked that the rotors were not totally cooked, I will just need to do some adjustments
  13. Took out the corroplastic floor decking and put some brown seadeck foam flooring, works well as an insulator
  14. Got my new steering wheel, I've moved the pedals forward a good 4", much more leg room now, I will need to adjust the throttle cable, revs are a bit off, too high because of the movement. I will need to build a pedal cover, does not seem there are any companies around anymore to make parts, but I think I can handle it. Tons of paperwork came with the car along with a custom trailer ... Very happy so far.
  15. At the detailers getting all beautiful, I cannot believe the detailed paperwork the owner had. I'm very lucky
  16. She is mine officially now
  17. Headed to DMV to get her official
  18. I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight before I can get her off the trailer and take that first drive
  19. Well.... Everything went well today, and I got my WCM Ultralite picked up and I'm almost home with it. Thanks to the forum, I was able to find the car I wanted and so excited to get it and drive it for the first time on Tuesday!
  20. Yep... Now we are trying to work out some paperwork issues, anybody know where the vin number is on the car?
  21. It's been fun building the hauler to use with my mini... now it's gonna be even more fun times fitting it up with the ultralite!!
  22. I know this is a very old topic, but by any chance would the windshield still be avialable?
  23. But I'm so happy we made a deal... Cannot wait to meet up and take possession!
