  1. I've banged up a couple of these wheels on my Caterham. Interested in anything from one to a complete set.
  2. I have a '94 HPC. One of the best filters you can use is Mobil 1 M1-102. Your oil choice is pretty good although a bit on the heavy side. This is because the Catetham bespoke aluminium sump is heavily finned which keeps the oil temp's on the low side for anything other than track use. On the street you'll be hard pressed to get your oil temp's over 80C even on a hot summer day. As a result I and other HPC owners have found you can easily maintain oil pressure running a 0W-20 on the street and a 0W-30 or 5W-30 for track day use. The recommended hot oil pressure is 4.4-5.7 bar at 4,500 rpm. The maximum OP is about 6.2 bar which you should be able to reach at elevated rev's with a cold engine. It's not uncommon on what is now an old engine for the OP sensor to become faulty and not allow the maxmum 6.2 bar reading on the oil gauge and therefore making the gauge inaccurate. Just something to be aware of. If you hot OP doesn't drop to at least 5 bar you can drain off some of the M1 0W-40 and add some 0W-20. The Mobil made Toyota brand 0W-20, one of the best 0W-20s available. On another forum I made this resulting 0W-30 blend well known as the CATERHAM blend.
  3. I prefer the 7 x 13 they have for the same price. Of course the shipping cost is more than the price of the wheel. I got a price form Caterham to ship four 15" wheels and it came in at 210 BPS.
  4. Interested in buying a pair of Caterham 15" x 6.5" 10 spoke S3 wheels and a pair of CSR 15" x 9" rear wheels. With or without existing tires. Thanks Peter
  5. I think most would agree it would be a Duratec of some flavor.
  6. I have the only VX Caterham in Ontario. My home town, Burlington, is 50 miles west of Toronto. The car has a fair bit of provenance with a photo of my car on page 153 of Chris Rees' 1996 book, CATERHAM SEVENS The Official Story ofa Unique British Sportscars. And it was on the cover of the July 1994 issue of the motorcycle magazine CYCLE CANADA with a feature story comparing the car's on track performance to a Yamaha FZR1000. There is another one in Quebec. Forget his name but we met up at a Lotus track day at Mosport about 5 years ago. I remember he was running 48 mm Webers that didn't work that well. I could tell from the sound of it every time I lapped him....woops, now I'm bragging!
  7. Yes Toyo R1R come in the 205/45-16 size. But while the stickier Toyo R888 and even stickier Yoko A048 don't come in that size, they do come in the 195/50-16 size which will fit within the front cycle wings as they are only 4 mm larger in radius. On the rear, these tires come in the 225/45-16 size which will fit on the 7" rim and they are only 7 mm larger in radius.
  8. These tires are about 1/3rd worn but only with one track session. http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f95/fs-toyo-r888s-15-16-a-103996/ The tires are off an Exige. Price is $150 a pair. The owner, Mike, is in the LA area and can be reached at: jumpman1975@gmail.com I have no commercial connection other than I bought some rear tires from him. The 15" size is odd for an Elise/Exige so I offered to post for him here.
  9. Here are the latest CR500 tyre weights from Avon: 175/55-13 (actual section width 184 mm) ...13.6 lbs 205/55-13 ( " ...................... " 230 mm) ...15.4 lbs 245/50-13 ( " ...................... " 252 mm) ...18.5 lbs 195/45-15 ( " ...................... " 200 mm) ...16.3 lbs 245'45-15 ( " ....................... ' 252 mm) ...18.0 lbs
  10. I need to replace the left side carbon fibre rear wing (fender) protector. It needs to be the long version thast matches the right side. Thanks Peter
  11. I've never known anyone who drives a 7 without a windscreen to get hassled in Ontario. There is so much about the 7 that seems illegal to the uninformed, the average cop wouldn't know where to begin and therefore it doesn't come up.
  12. Thanks Bob, So this is one of the places you hangout! Peter 94 HPC
  13. Not to be pedantic but the 16" KN Caterham wheels weight 6.7kg or 14.74lbs. The main advantage of them is the ground clearance they provide on the street; approximately 3/4" over the 13" wheels or even the 15" wheels with the spec' 195/45-15 CR500 tire.
