About thirty years ago I had a Manx style buggy and ran without a windshield. At the time the law stated that if your vehicle was manufactured with a windshield you were not allowed to remove it. I was stopped a few times and questioned about it and I argued successsfully that my car was built by myself and and I didnt design it to have a windshield so I wasnt required to install one. None of the officers decided to push the issue. I too live in the Toronto area.
