  1. To some a ROTUS is a rotary powered 7, to others a ROTUS is a 7 manufacturered in Frederick, Maryland. Why not name yours ROTUS ROTUS?
  2. Thanks for your help but I still can not find the VIN number. Slngsht, all the frame pieces near the master cylinders are covered with sheet metal, Where would it be? solder guy, all my MGTC friends have passed on, I don't have an idea what a scuttle is. Could you be more specific where on the frame near the radiator the VIN is stamped. Pictures of the plate and stamping would be greatly appreciated. Sorry to be such a pest but I can't register with out a VIN number inspection. My VIN number is R0700015 and is supposed to be number 3. Would your VIN numbers end in 13 and 14? If not any idea how were the VIN numbers choosen? Ruadhd2 do you know where the VIN number is located on your Rotus? Thanks for your help. Steve
  3. I just bought Ruadhd2's Rotus. Here are some pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/drsms22/RotusPics# I have always wanted a Lotus since I say one on the cover of Sport Car Illustrated in the late '50's. Ruadhd2 is very pleasant and helpful to work with. He found a nice rotary engine Rotus and wanted to sell the Toyota engined Rotus. One problem I have is I can't find the VIN number. My guess is that it is stamped some place on the frame. There is no VIN plate or evidence that it was removed. If any of you know where it is located I would appreciate hearing from you. I can't wait to get it registered. I do plan on making a VIN plate along the line of the AC Cobra plate. Taking out the Engine No. line and adding one for Model No. If you have a VIN plate on your Rotus I would love having a picture. What a great group and thank you for the info I have received just by poking around.
  4. I bought Ruadhd2's Rotus. It still has not been delivered. What a nightmare these transporters can be. In Utah you can use old plates if you have a pair. I found a nice pair of 1967 plates that I plan on using, 1967 is registered year of the car. I think that is cooler than vanity plates that are a bit overdone. By the way "ROTUS" is available if I want it.
