Flasher Relay Location?

It was right at the end of my last run on a warm afternoon at the end of winter when I noticed that my turn signals had stopped working. after a few weeks of thinking, poring over the wiring diagrams, I hit on the idea of checking the functioning of the emergency flashers.

 

Sure enough, they're not working either.

 

So, the obvious solution would be to replace the flasher relay, right?

 

The problem is, I have no idea where that part is located. Anybody have any ideas of where to look? I'm thinking that it would resemble the metallic, cylindrical thing plugged into a strip of other similar parts.

 

Then I notice that the emergency flasher uses it's own relay. What are the chances that two relays would go bad at the same time?

 

I see that the horn relay is on the same strip; the horn works. The lights work, so there must not be a general problem with the strip. I'm just assuming that there is a four-relay strip because all four relays are shown in-line on the assembly guide wiring diagrams.

The relays were mounted with the fuse box on my 06 Caterham which was located on the fire wall above the passenger footwell. If I remember correctly there were plastic cubes. It may not be the relay though, a common problem seems to be the flasher switch. These flash switch are always create the problem for me, how you fix them?

I had problems with my flasher as well. The turn signal would quit & the emergency flashers would work. The flasher is a relay on the fuse/circuit breaker board. While messing around with the emergency flasher switch, it would work again and then not. I replaced the emergency flasher switch and that fixed it for good. If you look at the wiring diagram, you will notice the turn signal circuit glows thru the emergency flasher switch. Lucas electrical systems, a real klusterf$ck.

turn your e-flasher switch on and tap the relay, once the e-flashers work your turn signal will work. Happens every year or so to me.
