Conor
Do we have any 7 owners in NC? I'm looking at a 7 that is titled in Oregon as a 2009 ASMBL (Assembled) car. It was built by Rocky Mountain Sports Cars and is for sale by a private owner. I would appreciate any guidance you can offer on getting it registered for road use in NC. What I need to do, pitfalls, best practice etc. Thanks in advance. Conor

Klasik-69
I have a vacation home in NC and keep a registered Jeep at the house. NC requires yearly safety inspection. I just wonder if they do so of a "replica" car as well ? I'm not sure what they check, I just pay the $12 inspection fee and leave it at that. It can't be that extensive for the paltry amount of money.
Conor
All complete and I have the tag. It was much simpler than I had expected. The car was already titled in Oregon as Make : ASMBL which is th abbreviation for "Assembled" The lady in the DMV simply copied everything over, I paid the tax and walked out with the registration. Just waiting on the NC title and the car. The car is in transit now.
Shoe String Racing
Glad to hear that. That was my experience in CA of all places and I was more than a little skeptical, thinking the clerk probably made a mistake. There were lots of forms, instructions, guidance on the DMV website for a kit car (aka "Special construction") to be registered in CA (the process known as SB-100). But my concern was that there was no specific (or inferred) statements that out of state finished and titled cars didn't have to go thru the rigorous SB-100 process. Restores my faith in government. :smash: Haha........NOT. OK just a little.
