Question on missing MCO?

MCO = Manufacturer certificate of origin

 

Hi Folks,

 

I'm looking at getting a new Caterham, however the place that has the kit (NY) seems to have lost the MCO paper.

They are trying to get it from Caterham directly.. is it possible to get a MCO after the fact or could there be more red flags here that i need to be mindful off?

 

I'm really excited to join the family but want to ensure i don't get screwed in not being able to get a title + register the car.

 

Any words of wisdom is welcome here...
