Might help someone. 
 

Had reason to need the MIL light operable on the tachometer. 
 

Peter at Caerbont instruments successfully got it operational so that it comes on with ignition power up and goes out with engine running.

One way without programmables is to wire the MIL light in series with the charging failure light between the alternator and keyed power in the RUN position.
