1997 Caterham Super 7 Sprint - SOLD

Up for sale is our 1997 Caterham Super Seven Sprint with the 1600 GT (AX Block) cross flow on twin 40 carburetors. This Caterham was a home built vehicle and then it was sent back to the Caterham factory for inspection/ registration which is why it does not have a Q plate which is for kit cars and has a proper "R" registration plate for the 1997 model year. The previous owner replaced the gearbox with a Type 2 4-speed straight cut close ratio Quaiffe unit, with a a rose jointed gear stick, this gearbox is good for up to 175 horsepower if you choose to upgrade the engine.

 

This car is an absolute blast to drive and is very quick.

 

This Caterham comes with a large stack of service records and MOT's as can be seen in the last photo along with all of the original letters from Caterham corporate to the original owner.

 

This Caterham has the classic Lotus colors - polished aluminum, green nose, wings and yellow stripe.

 

Items that have been recently installed as well as items that the Caterham comes with:

 

- it has had new headlamp bowls installed

- it comes with full wet weather gear which includes half hood and heater (very warm for the passenger) which has been replaced recently.

- long nose shower cap - windbreak for between roll bar and seats

- stanchion mounted wind deflectors

- carbon effect mounts for carbon effect mirrors

- chrome roll bar - but also comes with the standard one as well

- recently installed new thermostat for the upgraded radiator

- brooklands windscreen included

 

Recently passed its MOT in England with no advisories. This Caterham has been properly imported through our dealership Peregrine Motors LLC and is currently at our dealership in Tennessee.
