Recently I became aware of an interesting automotive opportunity, the showing of the IMAX film "NASCAR". I wanted to take this opportunity to notify you of this event.

 

 

 

The IMAX showing of the film "NASCAR" on January 16th will now feature commentary by leading race car winners, Greg Edwards of the Edwards Brothers Motorsports Team and Ashton Lewis, Jr. of the Busch Series. This free event is sponsored by the Hampton Roads Section of AIAA, and by the Science & Technology Corporation. Please see the attached flyer for further details.

I have high hopes for the guest speakers since this event is being supported by the local chapters of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). They tend to get down and dirty into technical details at their meetings.

 

Langley turned over one or two of their wind tunnels to Old Dominion University (ODU). Since then they have been doing a great deal of work with full scale cars in the low speed tunnel equipped with a rolling road. I expect a bunch of the NASA Langley and ODU aerodynamics folks to be in attendance.

 

 

My name is Dean Giacopassi and I am starting a Lotus club covering South East Virginia (roughly the area from Virginia Beach to Richmond). My wife and I will be attending and invite you to step up and introduce yourself (we will be suitably Lotus attired). After the movie we will be going to dinner at one of the many local restaurants and we would very much like to get a group together for dinner.
