JBH
My right turn signal buzzes the relay, but the left blinks properly. I think my relay is bad - I checked the bulbs. The relay is a Wehrle 54 102 101, 12 V 3-prong. I can not find a relacement supplier for the exact relay when I search the internet. Anyone have a replacement part number or supplier for this relay? fnmag58
unless I'm mistaken, the relay doesn't know if it is running the left or the right turn signals. If the bulbs are good, I would start checking the grounds--a high resistance ground will result in the problem you indicated. Also make sure you have the exact same bulbs for each side--there are a lot of bulbs that use the same sockets but the wattage is different resulting in diffent amperage draws. I had a similar situation recently and after correcting the high resistance gound, I decided to replace the relay. My 1982 uses a Triumph relay that i bought from Moss Motors. Can't find the paperwork right now, but if you need I will look it up for you.
HPC
Check your battery voltage. I changed the relay in my Caterham (exactly that one from Wehrle) when it refused to work but without success. I exchanged the battery then because the Cat didn't always start properly and the relay problem was equally gone, also with the old relay which I put back into the car. BTW: The hazard lights even worked with the old and weak battery so its not a case of "all or nothing".
JBH
As weird as it may seem (and I still don't understand it), the problem was in the turn signal toggle switch. The resistance on one side was just enough to cause the problem.
