Robert O. Urfer
I got my new Rotus home yesterday, well early this morning. My father and I headed out to D.C. from Toledo, Ohio at 7:30 A.M. yesterday and got home at 4:00 this morning. We had a couple issues along the way which is what took us so long but we made it. I got it titled and plated today as well. I now need to call hagerty for insurance. I cleaned the car out as there was a fair amount of just stuff in it. I will be having a new top and tonneau made and also new seats. I pulled the seats out to find a lot of moisture and 20 years of nasty. The square tube that goes in front of the seat bottoms is fairly rusty on both sides from all the moisture but I think it can be salvaged. The exhaust is rotted and will be replaced as well. I also plan to get aluminum front and rear fenders from Coveland and strip the paint from the car and either polish it or paint it, not sure yet. I will need 5 new tires, reworking of the electrical and some brake work as they are mushy,. I may simply replace the whole Tilton pedal assembly as well since some of the seals are rotten. I also need windshield washer nozzles, new bushings, new coil overs, and probably a few other things. This will be a fun project and I very glad to have purchased the car. I will take some pics and put them in my photobucket account some time this week so you can see what I have. I drove the car around the block this afternoon and grinned from ear to ear with joy. It was cool. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gif Merry christmas to me http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
solder_guy
Great! Have a good time with the car! I am also slowly upgrading my Rotus. Which engine do you have? Keep track of the part numbers and details .. as I am also doing! Which number is your chassis? Rob Mitchell
slngsht
Robert, the first drive is always memorable. I'll never forget that with any of the toys. Congrats.
